The Pfeffermans have arrived back in Los Angeles without Ali, to who they said their goodbyes at Tel Aviv Airport as Ali tries to find herself in Israel, her undetermined stay as long as she feels like she is moving toward that happiness. Maura arrives at the house not only to have to deal with Davina's issue with August upstairs, but to find that her and Davina's situation becomes a little more cluttered. Maura calls in as much family help to deal with August, who takes a surprising move. The intervention by "Mario" may turn the tide. Sarah and Len map out their upcoming break-up with Lila. The break-up doesn't turn out quite the way they plan, they in the process finding out that neither is as good at breaking up as they believed. Their collective action may have unintended consequences. And Josh takes the next steps to deal with his issues, including what Rita truly meant in his life regardless of his parents' actions when he was a teenager. Meanwhile, Ali finds that the life at the West Bank farm where she felt so much security is not quite the same this time around. Ali gets some unexpected guidance on how to deal with the situation.
