Hardcore Holly suffered a broken arm when Kurt Angle landed on it with a moonsault. He would not have another match until November.
The Val Venis/Chris Benoit-Eddie Guerrero/Rikishi match was one of only two times Venis and Benoit ever teamed.
Steve Blackman interfered in the WWE Hardcore Champion Crash Holly-Al Snow match, took down Holly with nun-chucks and pinned him to win his first of six Hardcore Titles. Blackman fought off an attack by all three members of the Mean Street Posse, who sought to utilize the 24/7 rule, meaning that the title was always on the line so long as a referee was present, and drove off in a van.
WWE World Tag Team Champion Christian (w/Edge) defeated Kane in 4:44 with a Con-Chair-Two, that is, he and Edge both hitting Kane in the head with chairs at the same time. The Undertaker then defeated Edge with a chokeslam in a mere 1:47.
After Al Snow used bags of popcorn as a weapon during the Hardcore Title match, commentator Jerry "The King" Lawler made a joke about it being the "popcorn match." That is a wrestling term meaning the match right after intermission on a house show that is meant to provide the least incentive for fans to rush back to their seats and stop buying merchandise or concessions. Usually the match is filled with rest holds involving wrestlers fans don't care passionately about, or mid-carders who turn it down a notch. A wrestler with a nagging injury who can't work at 100 percent may be placed in the Popcorn Match position in order to give him an easy night of work to reduce the odds of aggravating the injury. Being a match filled with weapons and brawling, this would definitely not qualify for the "Popcorn match" category.
