This is even worse than THE WHITE QUEEN, which had some stellar acting keeping terrible writing afloat. The production quality on this series seems to be less, too, than its predecessor. The acting? Terrible. Every time Michelle Fairley opens her mouth, you just want to laugh at her. There were probably 17 different scenes showing Jodie Comer stomping around the halls of the "palace" or wherever the scenes were supposed to take place. If not that, it's funny how her breasts need to be propped up in every scene, as to remind us she's a woman. Jacob Collins-Levy tries to do some Orlando Bloom thing and doesn't quite get there. The liberties taken with factual history are somewhat silly, although it's amusing this time to see the producers put the disclaimer tag line at the end of the episode so gullible viewers realize this is not really the way things went down. THE WHITE QUEEN didn't do that, sadly, and it should have. Is there anything redeeming here? Not really, since the history isn't accurate, the acting is mostly laughable and the production quality is worse than the prior series. Why watch this at all? Comer is actually pretty good despite the terrible writing for her character, and like Rebecca Ferguson before her in THE WHITE QUEEN, she may be the saving grace of the entire series—if you can bear to watch it all.
