Sex & Nudity

  • Some moderate suggestive dialogue beetween characters.
  • While free roaming in New York city, there is a particular billboard that shows a woman that wears a top with very low cleavage and it's portrayed in a sexual way.
  • In the first DLC there is quite frequent sex references, but nothing very explicit.

Violence & Gore

  • Enemies cry in pain when struck but there is minimal if any blood visible.
  • The main villain may appear sinister as he is shown killing some civillians though most of the time Spider-Man saves them.
  • Very brief splashes of blood can be seen when people are struck in combat, however they are very easy to miss due to the flashy action.
  • Bloody gashes and cuts can sometimes be seen on an injured character's face.
  • Spider-Man gets beaten up a lot throughout the game.
  • The violence is much stronger than any other Spider-Man game and is much more mature in all ways. This is also made more clear as this game has groundbreaking photorealistic graphics with exceptional levels of visual detail, which significantly enhance the game's violent content, but also make this game really stand out on its own with its technical achievements.
  • Norman Osborne breaks a glass after hearing a news report. The camera then cuts to the floor where blood drips into small puddles
  • A silver sable agent attacks a demon and is about to shoot him in the face but spider-man saves the demon (because he doesn't kill)
  • The second fight between Mister Negative and Spiderman has some strobing light effects that could affect photosensitive players.
  • Spiderman is stabbed twice in the game.

Profanity

  • Bad language such as hell, damn, shit and son of a bitch.
  • About 2 uses of sh*t
  • Damnit and damn are used both 3 times
  • Prick is used once
  • 2 uses of son of a b*tch
  • About 4 or 5 incompleted uses on son of a b*tch and 2 full uses.
  • In the Heist DLC, there are about 8 uses of d*mn and 3 uses of ass.
  • The word "sh*t" appears in the dialogue.
  • Profanity can be heard in dialogue, including words like "shit", "bastard", "bitch", "ass", "damn", "hell", "prick", and "piss".
  • In the Tombstone stealth level with MJ when a toolbox is knocked over a guy say what dumb&@s doesn't put their s£@t away

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • One of the various side activities you can do involves stopping a drug cartel.
  • Various mild references to drugs.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Some of the villains, particularly the main one may appear frightening to younger players.
  • Intense moments like characters being taken as hostages, armed robberies, shootings without visible blood or injuries, themes of crime and various life and death sitautions.
  • Many of the characters (heroes and villains alike) have tragic backstories that might be upsetting for some.

Spoilers

The Parents Guide items below may give away important plot points.

Sex & Nudity

  • There is some sexual references where in the DLC package there is a moderate sexual line when Peter implies how he got a girl pregnant. There is a sexual comment added saying "but I thought superhero's were virgins".
  • There is a kissing scene between Peter Parker and MJ at the end of the game. It only lasts a few seconds.

Violence & Gore

  • During the final boss, Doc Ock stabs Spider-Man in the chest, and blood spurts. When he gets him off, Spider-Man pulls it out, spurting more blood. The bloodstain remains on his chest. Quite graphic.
  • Aunt May coughs up blood from a result of Devil's Breath sickness.
  • One of the more intense scenes of the game shows a terrorist attack. A man detonates a bomb vest and a man pushes him out the way. Other explosives go off. The player later explores the ruined area, where the enemies search for and kill any survivors. We see a people on the floor, with blackened clothing, some people are trapped under cars, you help them and see no injuries. Later we find Miles Morales' dad he is dead and has a small pool of blood surrounding his wound which is a patch of blood on his jacket (not very graphic). The demons threaten to kill you.
  • A man shoots himself in his head and falls to the ground, but the shot is blocked by another character (the camera spins and he takes the shot when the camera is in front of another character)
  • In another very intense scene, a gang tries to take over a train station, holding numerous civilians hostage and setting up a timed bomb. One terrorist hits a police officer with a gun butt (with a very brief blood spray) and later in the scene a civilian tries to take down one of the gunmen and is held at gunpoint. (he ends of being saved) Unlike the previously mentioned terrorist attack in which numerous people are killed, everyone survives.
  • Tombstone kills a man by throwing him through a window, and crushes his hand before he shoots himself in the head with the man's gun (the bullet falls to the ground and has no effect on tmbstone because he has hard skin) he then brutally punches and kicks him before crushing his skull with his foot, however the camera blocks the act so you don't see it, you only hear a crunching sound effect. This is extremely graphic and disturbing, however there is no blood except on the man's face.
  • Doc ock attacks spider-man (he is then shown near dead with blood seeping underneath him) (blood is hard to miss but is there)
  • Lots of violence, with brief blood splashes. Civilians are taken hostage, killed in terrorist attacks.
  • In the mission "Out of the Frying Pan", Scorpion stabs Spider-Man in the back.

Alcohol, Drugs & Smoking

  • In one mission, Spider-Man has to take down Tombstone, a drug lord with genetically enhanced strength and durability. They fight, and the drugs operation is discontinued. During their fight, an accidental fire occurs and makes the drug lab explode, to which Spider-Man stops Tombstone, and Jameson rants about how reckless and dangerous his actions were. He also talks about Spider-Man taking some of the drugs before setting them on fire, even though he didn't.

Frightening & Intense Scenes

  • Aunt May dies from the Devil's Breath at the end and it's a very intense, emotional scene.
  • During the mission "And the Award Goes To...", the Demons and Martin Li attack and kill many civilians (essentially a terrorist attack). Near the end of the mission, it is revealed that Jefferson Davis was one of those killed. Miles sees this, and this might make players cry.
  • After Doc Ock is defeated by Spiderman, Doc Ock expresses his feelings towards Peter Parker and how he will live without his arms. Afterwards, Spiderman is unable to cure Aunt May, resulting in her death.
