Bronn (Jerome Flynn) does not stay for the meeting, and leaves the Dragonpit with Podrick right before Cersei (Lena Headey) arrives. Although this could be an additional hint to make viewers believe that Bronn is anticipating a trap by Cersei, other sources have claimed many times that Flynn and Headey were once in a relationship that ended so badly that it's in both their contracts that they can never be on-set at the same time; Flynn has denied these rumors.
The Dothraki can be seen wearing bits and pieces of Lannister armor from their victory at Battle of the Goldroad in The Spoils of War (2017). One soldier is seen with a Lannister commander's pauldron, others are seen with arm braces, and some with decorative lion broaches. Dothraki soldiers could indeed be seen looting corpses after the battle, and probably scavenged clothing to make up for the drop in temperature for when they went up north towards King's Landing.
This is the longest episode of the series to date, with a run time of 81 minutes, surpassing the 71 minute run time of Beyond the Wall (2017). The record would be broken with the third episode of season 8, The Long Night (2019).
This episode attracted 12.1 million viewers in the live TV broadcast, with a 16.5 million viewers total rating on all platforms (including streaming on HBO Now and HBO Go). It thereby broke the Nielsen ratings again, becoming the most watched episode of the series since Eastwatch (2017), while also beating The Sopranos (1999)' finale record as the most viewed episode in the history of HBO.
The first appearance in the series of the Dragonpit, the cavernous former stable of the Targaryen dragons, in ruins for over a century since its destruction during the Dance of the Dragons (the Targaryen civil war from House of the Dragon (2022)). In the novels, the Dragonpit is considered one of the three architectural feats in King's Landing, along with the Red Keep and the Great Sept of Baelor. In the series, it appears as if the location of the Dragonpit is well outside the city limits of King's Landing. However, according to companion books, it is located on top of Rhaenys's Hill, which has many slums at its base but they do not extend all the way up the hill. Furthermore, the dragonpit simply never appeared in any landscape shots of King's Landing.
