The snow does the best acting. Awful!!!!!!

This is a contender for the worst movie ever to disgrace cine film. The dialogue is beyond cheesy, the acting staggeringly bad and the .......it just sucks!!! It's like a fringe theatre group got together in the snow, manicures and lovely teeth included, to portray prisoners who were supposed to have been brutalised for so long a time. Though it is in English, you have to use subtitles and to me - the subtitles are embarrassed to be a part of it. Awful!!!

Acting is Great. Superb!!!!

Independent film covering a group of dissidents in the Soviet Union gulag. The close up cinematography has an edgy look like Lars von Trier's work with Robby Muller. Since this film only had a $2,500 budget, according to the producer, it really was quite impressive. I wasn't expecting a big multi-million dollar Hollywood film. Apparently the two lead actors are both from Russia and their accents really made the film authentic. Highly recommended if you want to watch a small independent movie about the Soviet camps that focuses on character.

WORST MOVIE OF ALL TIME?
RedSoxNationMT10 January 2020
This movie was likely written by a very young writer, perhaps pre-teen or teen, with a rich Hollywood uncle who made him a promise he'd turn it into a movie. So he spent $25,000, used film school interns and gave the kid his movie. The writing and direction are absolutely abysmal. If there's any real talent to be found in the actors, this clearly wasn't the production to do it. The snow machine was great. Do not waste your time.

Actual Russian and Belarusian Lead Actors. Outstanding!!!!!!!

As a Russian I'm often disappointed to see Americans try to play the parts of Russians. The two lead actors are actually from Russia and Belarus, and their accents show this. This makes the film very authentic. My American friends have told me their accents are thick and hard to understand, since the dialogue in in English, but to me it is the best way to show a Russian subject, with Russian and Belarus actors. I thank the director for having the courage to make this cast. I very much recommend this film.
