As someone who is obsessed with Ufos (or more recently known as UAPs) and the concept of extraterrestrials, I love a good documentary. Sightings have been on the rise since the 1940s, with the atomic bomb seemingly acting as a catalyst for new visitors. But what are these UFOs/UAPs? Is there an explanation or are they simply beyond our explanation? Why are they here? Who are they? How much do our governments know? The questions are endless and so are the documentaries that attempt to uncover the secrets behind decades of sightings and alleged confrontations.

It is 36 years since RoboCop blasted its way onto UK cinema screens and made a splash of epic, gruesome, proportions. With that a cult-like following is born and the film’s influence cannot be overstated.
RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is an incredibly methodical ‘making of’ documentary that has now set the standard and an exceptionally high one, no less. It comes as no surprise with the success of their recent projects which include Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story and Pennywise: The Story of It.
The documentary oozes passion and is testament to its directors Christopher Griffiths and Eastwood Allen clear love for the film in a project that has been over seven years in the making.
This four part series spans over more than four hours is nothing short of a triumph, it is forensic in its analysis and brings to life the chaos of the RoboCop shoot and does so brilliantly.

It’s been another blockbuster year for horror, but then again it always feels like that. Superhero fatigue has set in and major franchise pictures haven’t returned as expected, but horror, as ever, always seems to reach new heights. The news in 2023 may have been a load of gout, but the horror has been pure gold.
So, without further ado, here is a list of my top 10 of 2023.
RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop
Arrow Films, Vinegar Syndrome and others who have perfected the art of producing feature-length behind the scenes documentaries really have their work cut out for them thanks to RoboDoc. RoboDoc has broken the mould by creating an in-depth documentary that takes you through the entire film scene-by-scene. RoboDoc combines a retrospective documentary, director’s commentary and behind the scenes features into one glorious 4-part series.

While we released the documentary series this past Halloween season, RoboDoc has had a good bit of viral fame on social media this week. Why, you ask? Because of one particular behind the scenes anecdote that’s relayed in the series, which fans have been sharing around.
In this clip from RoboDoc, weapons master Randy E. Moore shares a story about RoboCop star Peter Weller, who one day had a serious craving for Oreos on the set of the film.

RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop documentary is getting sequels that cover RoboCop 2, 3, & TV series
The fan-funded, four-part docuseries RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop was acquired by Cinedigm last year, and the company gave it both a Blu-ray release (you can pick up a copy Here) and a streaming release, through the Screambox streaming service. Directed by Chris Griffiths and Eastwood Allen, RoboDoc focuses primarily on the first RoboCop, but does give a nod to RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3. And if any fans were disappointed that the sequels didn’t get enough coverage, the makers of the documentary have shared some very cool news: RoboDoc is getting its own sequels, which will cover RoboCop 2, RoboCop 3, and even the RoboCop TV series!
The first follow-up will be called RoboDoc Season 2: RoboCop 2, and it’s already expected to be released sometime in late 2024. Then sometime not too far down the line we’ll get RoboDoc Season 3: RoboCop 3 and the TV Series.

After binge-watching the excellent Screambox Original series RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop, you’re probably eager to get going in Teyon’s RoboCop: Rogue City. And if you’re still not up on what’s going on, Teyon has released a new story trailer to get you up to speed on RoboCop: Rogue City. In addition, more footage of Rogue City in action was revealed during the recent Xbox Showcase.
The story for Rogue City takes place between RoboCop 2 and RoboCop 3, and sees RoboCop (played once again by Peter Weller) caught up in the gang violence in Old Detroit. Making matters worse is that the gangs have decided to throw in with the “new guy in town”. Previously unknown to the police, this new figure is behind a rash of disappearances, a variety of brazen crimes of all kinds and the trafficking of Nuke.

The recent trend of docu-feature series exploring the history of popular IPs is gradually becoming popular among dedicated fans due to how genuinely interesting and informative they can be. The most recently released among such ventures is the first season of Robodoc: The Creation of Robocop, a Screambox original, which takes a look back at the excruciating production process, development, and brainstorming that went behind the 1987 sci-fi classic Robocop. The movie is still considered one of the topmost sci-fi pieces ever released by Western media, which was not only topical and philosophical but it has also proven itself to be timeless, at least in the current era more than ever.

The fan-funded, four-part docuseries RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop was acquired by Cinedigm last year, and the company is currently releasing the series through their Screambox streaming service, with episodes being released on a weekly basis starting today – but if you want to own the documentary on physical media, you’ll be glad to hear that RoboDoc is also set to receive a Blu-ray release in October! On October 17th, to be exact.
Our friends at Bloody Disgusting gave us the heads-up that a collector’s edition Blu-ray release of RoboDoc is available for pre-order through Amazon, and there’s also a steelbook that’s exclusive to Walmart. (It can be pre-ordered through the Walmart website.)
Coming to us from Dead Mouse Productions Ltd and Cult Screenings UK Ltd, RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is a fully independent retrospective into the making of RoboCop and its cultural impact over the last 30 years.

RoboDoc: The Creation of RoboCop is everything fans want it to be and this in-depth look at ‘The Future of Law Enforcement’ is incredible.
The 1987 classic from little known director at the time, Paul Verhoeven, is far more than a bloody sci-fi flick with great action scenes. Its political commentary, satire and damnation of corporate America at the time is ingenious.
This new documentary from the team behind Pennywise: The Story of It and recently Hollywood Dreams & Nightmares: The Robert Englund Story gives a comprehensive insight into RoboCop, its sequels as well as the TV series.
We sit down with co-directors Eastwood Allen & Chris Griffiths and producer Gary Smart to talk about the mammoth task of making this documentary and more.

"Part legend, part icon, all hero." The first trailer it out for a cinema history documentary titled RoboDoc: The Creation of Robocop. As the title clearly states, the doc film is about Paul Verhoeven"s seminal sci-fi classic RoboCop from 1987, and how it was made, and the influence it had, and the sequels that followed, and everything else. This project was funded on Kickstarter a few years back, and they're still working on finishing it up, getting it ready for release. "RoboCop has since become one of the most iconic and successful movies of the 1980s, a movie that was well ahead of its time and has left a lasting impression on fans across the globe. RoboCop is a film many fans watched as children when they were too young to understand the social commentary of this R-Rated movie, yet they were instantly hooked on the future of law enforcement.
