Yep, this episode turned a lot darker, still funny, but not as crazy as previous episodes.

FBI agent Weedle has found himself in deep lumber in a mysterious building, with Gordon Rimmer and his associates.
Todd and his sister Amanda chat in his apartment when Dirk and Farah call for him, to join in on their search around the neighbourhood.
They are trying to make sense of the map of the area, left for Farah by her employer Patrick Spring. This leads them to an isolated building, that Todd had seen but ignored.
FBI agent Weedle visits police Missing Persons office to speak to officers Zimmerfield and Estevez, he asks them very pointed questions about Farah Black, Dirk Gently, and Todd Brotzman. But became evasive when they asked him, about his FBI partner Nathan.
Todd, Farah and Dirk get into the area around the isolated building, Dirk tries the Crank handle in a wall aperture and promptly disappeared. (they had found in Patrick Springs lab) Todd removes the handle and promptly disappears with it.
FBI agent Weedle paid a visit to Todd Brotzman apartment looking for him, Amanda gets Farah on the phone and tells her about it. Farah leaves to help Amanda.
Todd and Dirk are trapped underground and have to search for a way out.
Gordon Rimmer meets up with his ex and they talk briefly of her new boyfriend, an FBI agent Nathan.
FBI agent Weedle pushing himself into Todds apartment and quizzes Amanda about Todd and Dirk. Farah arrives to lend her a helping hand, while agent Weedle retires to wait in his car. Weedle phones Rimmer to keep him up to speed with the events.
Rimmer talks to his ex about the missing rock legend Lux de jour, and promises her to provide the answers to what happened to him.
Todd and Dirk are busily stumbling around in what transpires to be, a labyrinth of passageways and rooms. They enter one room with a myriad of what appear to be TV screens, each depicting pictorial symbols.
Farah and Amanda exit the apartment block via a door that leads them to a room, and hear sounds of Todd and Dirk in trouble on the other side of the wall. As Farah tries to break through it, they are joined by the Rowdy 3 who lend her a hand. Farah, Amanda, Todd and Dirk investigate the room with the tv screens, to see what they can find.
Rimmer takes his ex to his lair in the old Animal Transfer Unit, where he shows her Lux de jours effects. She asks him what he has done to Lux, and Rimmer starts to spin her a fantastical yarn. They are joined by a group of blokes including FBI agent Weedle, and Rimmer concludes his yarn.
