A police officer from Will Estes's precinct shot and killed a fleeing suspect and the Grand Jury fails to indict. There's a lot of community anger, but some gang banger played by Sydney James Harcourt shoots down a police officer and those in the neighborhood are reluctant to talk about it.
This incident gets the whole Reagan family involved. The New York County DA conducts its own investigation and there's a leak from said office that brings about a rift between the mayor and Tom Selleck. And of course the lead detective is none other than Donnie Wahlberg.
My favorite scene however is the confrontation between Bridget Moynahan and the young ADA who did the leaking Christina Vidal. She's unhappy to lose her job, but quite unrepentant.
Except for Len Cariou all the Reagans have a piece of this sad tale showing how tough it is for justice to prevail when the public does not trust law enforcement.
