Director Mark Ross self funded the entire film out his personal savings. He nearly went broke on an ambitious green screen shoot where he was required to put up a high priced insurance bond in order to protect a vintage 1940s tow truck he rented for 24 hours.
Many of the film's elaborate props and set pieces were built by director Mark Ross. He built a cockpit for a retro futuristic steam punk robot, a B-25 aircraft cockpit, and interior cockpit of a super hero car inspired by the original Batmobile.
Assistant Director Jason Goldberg is an accomplished theater director as well as a former child actor.
Part of the film takes place on old Route 66. The film shot at an antique gas station that had been relocated from Route 66 to a private residence just outside of Las Vegas. The owner generously allowed the film to shoot on his property.
The number 1138 is featured in various Easter Eggs. The film went back to the original source material that inspired both Raiders of the Lost Ark and Star Wars.
