Different not always equals good Warning: Spoilers
This is "Blackstar", a 10-minute music video from late last year by musician David Bowie and he used it to promote his song with the same name. If you know Bowie a bit, you will know that his music videos are frequently very different compared to generic music videos from other artists. And this one here is no different. He has no big name actors in it like he sometimes does, but the runtime is already very long and in terms of the contents, it's also something completely different. This is a very very dark video, very creepy at times and Bowie's singing adds a lot to that as well. He may have known at this point already what is going to happen to him soon and that makes it a bit of a sad watch. I personally did not like the song or video too much I must say, but still I cannot deny the artistic impact Bowie and Swedish director and writer Johan Renck brought to the table. I am not a huge Bowie fan, but he has songs I like a lot (usually the lighter material). This one here will not make it into my favorites. Thumbs down.
