Boring, by the numbers, doesn't add anything to the genre
jsmiemans-154526 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Rogue Warrior is a low budget, low-effort action movie about an elite group of special forces operatives from different countries, who have to work together to stop a terrorist organisation. At first they don't get along, but in time they learn to trust each other and co-operate, yada-yada-yada. It has all the typical ingredients of a B-movie; terrible looking sets, clunky dialogue, a bad guy costume that looks like a mix between Kylo Ren and a Muslim woman's hijab... I could go on. I would've been glad to overlook those things if the action scenes were decent (that's the only standard I really hold this type of movie to), but unfortunately that's where I found the movie to be most disappointing. Apparently, in his "day job", director Mike Gunther is quite an accomplished Hollywood stunt coordinator, but that really doesn't show through in this movie. The action scenes look cheap and amateurish, and there's really not a lot of stunts, apart from the arbitrary "terrorist gets shot and falls down". It all adds up to a bland, mediocre package which had me struggling to keep my eyes open, especially during one of its long expository dialogue scenes (of which there are too many). Usually I'd recommend this type of movie for a lazy Sunday afternoon, but there's just nothing interesting here and there are too many better movies, even in the low-budget genre. Give it a pass.

Barely worth watching
chevyx-389596 October 2019
While poorrly executed, this movies does show the brutality and atrocities of ISIS like groups in the middle east. Outside of that, there is nothing new here. Just a pale, tired, and old story. Not worth your time.

Even by DTV standards this is bad.
IonicBreezeMachine5 August 2020
Rogue Warfare makes one pine for the days of Nu Image "classics" like The Alternate or the Operation Delta Force franchise. At one point these movies had a purpose of being bulk shipped to VHS rental stores in the hopes of making a pittance from those unlucky enough to be too late to rent the latest Schwarzenegger or Carrey movie. These days they take up space on streaming services and have somehow managed to become worse in technical aspects and entertainment value. Rogue Warfare plays itself straight while being boring poorly shot, poorly directed, and poorly acted. Most of the cast feel like they're sleep walking(even the usually reliable Stephen Lang) and when the action does happen(very rarely) it is poorly staged and not engaging in the slightest. DTV movies don't need to do much to justify themselves, just blow stuff up and be entertaining, if you're starved for a cheap action movie fix just rent a Nic Cage movie, he's probably made at least 5 of them in the time it took to type this review.

So Bad!!!!
fatherron7 December 2019
This is by far the worst military movie ever made. Nothing about it makes any sense. The writer should be barred from ever writing another movie. Ever again. Especially military. My teenage sons could do better.

"Russian female sniper" enough said....except...
jcmlb9 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I refuse to believe that there was even one military technical advisor for this monstrosity. 3 minutes in, you'll realize how bad the dialogue is. 10 minutes in, you'll realize how cliche things will be. 20 minutes in, you'll realize that the Russian girl couldn't possibly know anything about marksmanship or cover and concealment ie: barrel of weapon system hanging out of a window. Then if you get beyond all of that, there's a 10 minute rant of what looks like not even close to a Muslim radical, about how the west will never take "these lands." Not kidding, 10 minutes. Calling a 4 star general "commander"=never happen, a Lieutenant Colonel with an EIB, a beard, and about 28 years old=never happen, not having the helo stay on station while in a TIC=never happen. It looks like the Russian girl's helmet was Andre the Giant's old helmet. Every time the helos are inbound, someone says "10 minutes out." As if that is going to add some sort of military type jargon to the scene. I won't even get into the tactics. Spoiler alert: when the baddie is holding the detonator, and the "sniper" doesn't shoot him, but shoots at him after he detonates the bomb and not hitting him. Why not just shoot him in the first place? I could write probably 10,000 words about what this movie gets wrong. I can write a few words about what it got right....it ended....kind of... even that, they f'd up.

The terrorist that talks too much
deleonlindsay26 April 2020
I think the leader of the terrorist group wants to join a speech contest. I want the military to kill him to shut him up.

WORST MOVIE EVER SEEN
rzrbckred2 November 2019
Warning: Spoilers
Wasted $ paying for this on PPV...i never write reviews, but this movie is so bad on every element of moviemaking. Spoiler...the "team" diffused a dirty bomb. Then, even though the bad guy leader was not killed or captured, they just leave it in the village...omg, absolutely hilarious it is so bad...then, when they walk off from bomb, and though their pseudo-team leader is still a hostage, movie ends with "The Team Will Return." Omg, a sequel to the worst movie ever made, but no, it's a TRILOGY! LOL, you have to be joking...I could go on and on...the diabolical mad man bad guy, who by some amazing moviemaking speaks English with his own people through 80% of the film during VERY LONG speeches, but for some reason switches to whatever language, could have been killed 3 or 4 times...there were so many bad cliches and horrible military tactics, I just can't, it was absolutely horrible from start to finish.

Absolutely the worst war movie I have ever seen.
amitche-7412616 December 2019
Warning: Spoilers
After the first 10 minutes of the movie I could tell it was going to be a stinker. The acting was horrible and the sets made no sense, for example the coalition force was taking cover from AK47 gun fire behind wooden produce crates labeled from a farm in San Jose, Ca. piled alongside wooden inventory pallets. (no lie) This seemed odd because the movie was supposed to be set in the middle east. In certain portions of the movie the dialogue from the "terrorists" was in a different language and subtitled with English, and strangely enough in other scenes the terrorists spoke English. ( I couldn't make any sense of it.)

The movie was so bad I was cracking up during the "serious dialogue" scenes. My son used to make movies for his 9th grade video production class,..let's just say this was a tad bit better than the movies he made.

I could go on but, I'll suffice it to say save your time and money and pass on this one. Or if you want a good laugh rent it.

Awful
napoleanWilson-116 January 2020
I agree with all the negative comments made about this movie, but nobody has pointed out what struck me as the worst- They have an assembled team and NOBODY seemed to be in charge in the team. Ok that adds tension with them arguing, but come on. Another thing, I've never seen so many unmilitary haircuts in an army movie.

Painfully inauthentic

Warning: Spoilers
Didn't give any stars because I barely watched any of it. From the first frame all the people supposedly in another country were very clearly American, down to the kids kicking the ball in the street in a very American fashion.

Five ratings of 10?
mojotre6 June 2020
Could the other actors not get their moms to write a review too? My 10 is for Galina who grew up an orphan.

There

was

no

part

of

this

movie

that

redeemed

any

of

it.

Every one of the actors had guns. Why didn't they threaten the producers if they released it?

where's Galina
lifelinespublishing5 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
What the hell why the actress who played "GALINA" the RUSSIAN SNIPER were not credited in the movie, she played a pivotal role to be included in this.

as for the movie., the pacing was ok., there were some boring languages, I will not touch on the ideology of the film but will just comment on the "visuals"., the action sequence was average.

I am surprised they are already part 2 on this as Daniel will be rescued on the next film.

Worst movie ever.
kinoti127 January 2020
This is one of the most below budget movies ever watched in a long time. The script is poorly written and executed. The military theme is poorly executed. I mean seal team series is much more better.

When do we start?
nogodnomasters18 October 2019
Warning: Spoilers
A Russian, Chinese man, a Brit, a Frenchman and a couple of Americans walk into a bar. . . Okay, they are all special ops brought together to work as a "team" although they never trained together. Their job is to take out a small group on independent terrorists known as "The Black Mask" in Syria?

The acting and direction were a disaster and the plot left a lot to be desired. Why not call in the Mossad? What I saw was 1:42 long and had no closure. BTW you can not wear a gas mask with a full beard.

Guide: F-word. No sex or nudity.

Worst Movie of...i don't know
marcoasleitao-905-48075326 August 2020
Warning: Spoilers
First of all, Hollywood MUST find other kind of villains. The portraying of muslims as fanatics and terrorists is sickening.

Well, the movie is a waste of time for a serie of reasons: poor action, endless talking between the Supreme Leader and his scientist(the very reason for this film to be so horrible). And almost everything is excessevely repetitive(the team going to the action, coming back to the base, talking to the general...) aarrgghhh By the way...where in the world the US would put a Lieutenant General in command of a base with only 8 soldiers ? Where in the world 2 Lieutenant Colonels would be in charge of computers, a task appliable to sergeants ?

Come on, this is AWFUL !!!!!!!! And this is a trilogy !!!!!!

Horrible movie
rchrusovsky2 April 2020
I can't remember ever watching a movie this bad. Terrible script, bad acting, and the most unrealistic war movie I have ever seen. A special ops team armed worse than a Marine or army infantry squad. That's crazy! No team leader, no mission briefs to speak of, and a hokey intelligence cell of two officers and no support personnel. Every team insertion during daylight. Just plain nuts.

Utter Nonsense
barry_j_kay27 October 2020
I have rarely seen such diabolical acting nor a complete lack of realism in a movie.

I'll name a few: No allocated team leader Helmets that don't fit. Rarely anyone covering their rear position on the ground. Sniper with no scout Dog tags on a secret mission Homemade military bombs

I could go on but you get the idea.

Its so bad that it's funny.

Shame on you Netflix lol
doktorwirefly18 April 2020
I was trying to do something on my phone so wasn't paying full attention. Probably why I got to the 28 minute mark before I switched off. Reading the reviews was thoroughly entertaining tho. Especially the 10 star reviews. There aren't many. Actually I was surprised there where any 10 star reviews but when I think about it? If there are enough blind, deaf and dumb people to make a movie? Then odds are on there will be a few blind, deaf and dumb people who will appreciate it.

There can be only one
mojotre6 June 2020
Warning: Spoilers
No this isn't one of the good/bad Highlanders. There can be only one explanation. The acting, the dialogue, the script, the directing, the premise but most of all the ending can only be an attempt to wind up on Mystery Science Theater 3000. It won't, it is not sciency enough and too much low hanging fruit.

***SPOILERS***

The most amazing thing about this film is I watched it until I read the words, The Team will Return.

I recognize there can be a need in the midst of battle to improvise but these guys are apparently so good the decision to leave the barracks and everything that happens after is an improvisation.

The commanders job has nothing to do with planning and strategy. His sole job is to stand there and yell "I need it now!"

The President seems a sensitive and caring fellow which brings me to the commanders second job now that I think of it. He needs to keep the President informed every hour around the clock on the status of getting Daniel back. I think most of those reports are pretty much saying, "Sir, we really aren't doing much of anything as regards that".

Why the President so involved with this? How bout a shot of the British leader, or the Chinese or French one? They just donated a couple guys to the task force and beyond that they just don't care? Maybe that is because out of the 7 chances only the Americans get killed or caught. Lucky for them we could see the story progression that they are now all brothers. Sorry Galina, and sisters.

Speaking of Galina, in the next two installments I hope they start giving her about a 3 minute head start to get into position. She never got there in time but though she gets there late she piles up the bodies.

I can't think of a movie I have ever given a 1. If I watch it to the end it had to have some redeeming quality, We watched it to the end curious how much worse it could be. The end is both hilarious and a threat.

As A Veteran...I'm offended!!
nrolens23 October 2020
Complete garbage sums it up best. The way these "soldiers" portray themselves is wrong on every facet. You'd think an advisor would be on set to tell them yes or no about the dialogue, tactics, uniform, weapon systems, etc. The thing that irritates me most is their cliche sayings that Hollywood thinks we use all the time. Like shouting "CLEAR!" as soon as you enter a room even though it's not. "I got your six brother", "you know what you signed up for", etc. It's just ignorant of them not to insist on having someone on set who knows what they're talking about.
