Lost it
Garrington195427 May 2021
What started out to have great promise lost it very easily, the film is clearly of a low budget, but has inklings to be something far more superior, often it pulls this off. But then it goes off in side tangents, taking the part of the story where the romantic couple become separated a rocky road,

Unfortunately when the story hits division, there is nothing to pull this film back on its tracks and if I'm honest I gave up giving the film my fullest attention.

The film is what it is, but its now European Vacation and while everyone struggles to make the film the best it can be, the less impressive script knows everyone for six.

It Didn't Work for Me
BajaJayhawk25 February 2022
Warning: Spoilers
I rarely quit a film, but after 30 minutes (a third of the running time), I couldn't take any more.

Many reviewers here comment on the low-budget filmmaking, but I found no faults whatsoever with the technical side of "Tracks." Similarly, the leads seemed entirely competent. So if these filmmakers overcame two of the biggest hurdles to making a good movie -- technical competence and acting chops -- how could they fail?

In a word, "screenplay." The couple's chemistry was nonexistent and the stabs at humor were sophomoric. First, they engage in a mediocre and over-long bout of cutting insults (is this an English thing?); then we try to wring laughs out of speaking a foreign language by pronouncing English words with a bad accent; then we try to use the vacation GoPro to sneak a porn clip of the wife; this leads to the (almost always fruitless) attempt to use masturbation as a comic vehicle... and we haven't even gotten to the explosive diarrhea, which yes, can happen on a vacation and can be funny to a 13-year-old, but is mishandled badly here.

The film's topic (how might a maturing couple rekindle their connection) is a rich vein for comedy and pathos, but after a third of the movie, the Tracks mine had only produced a pitiful mound of slag; I cut my losses and reclaimed an hour of my life.

Fun to travel while stuck at home
jmaidoff25 April 2021
I enjoyed this as did my wife of 30+ years. We traveled Europe after a year together, and several times after.. on one we had our typewriters and guitars... almost no money...very relatable. The ups and downs of determining if you work as a couple.

Dreadful with dreadful humour
ukheather29 December 2022
This is such a bad film. 15 mins in and I'm ready for the end. I stick with it to the end to see if it picked up. It didn't.

Trust the other low scores and ignore the fake 10. This is bad.

Soon as it started I said "I bet this guy produced or directed this" and yup he did.

The humour is none existent. It's like childish humour that doesn't even bring a smirk. It's not even slightly funny. We looked at each other every time there was a "joke" and both rolled our eyes every time.

The conversations were painful, childish, pointless conversations. Barely any discussion of the trip, just moaning, arguing and childish conversations.

It's like 2 young kids in a playground. No joke!

It's not I don't get the humour, I'm British too, it's just the worst I've ever seen. Honestly, and I watch 2 movies every single day so seen a lot of films!

Humour is the worst I've seen in a while. It's like two 10-13 year old kids making "jokes" with barely any storyline. It's like they were just trying to get in "jokes" rather than a good story.

No story, constant music and skipping through their trip super fast, only stopping the music and sped up scenes for the "jokes". And the jokes aren't even jokes.

Be prepared to not laugh. At all. And be prepared for the dumbest, most pointless, unfunny, childish conversations ever.

-10 but can't rate negative, so 1 star.

Going Indy In Europe
beammeup-2955427 May 2021
This is clearly an indy movie. It's not a bad movie, it's not a great movie either. The two lead actors are not bad. The lighting and camera work is pretty basic, the editing is rough at times. The music is a mishmash, some songs fit, some are annoying. At times the script is clever, at times... I did enjoy the locations.

It's just interesting enough that I can recommend watching it.
