As a documentary, it does an excellent job portraying members of the Mystic Realms live action role-playing group, both in and out of character. It adds a humanizing touch, not just weird people who dress up and hit each other with foam swords, but as ordinary folks with jobs and families who engage in a hobby that seems just as fun and entertaining as contact sports.
I enjoyed it because it shows people having fun, whether it's bringing folks back from the dead, playing a horrific monster, or just standing on the sidelines for moral support. The film might not hold much entertainment value for LARP veterans, but for anyone who might be interested in learning more about the hobby, it's a good movie to show just what LARP is all about.
