This episode seems to feature women--two of which seem a bit daffy. A new art teacher comes to town and she's ultra-bizarre and her strange craft collage scares the children. She also seems to annoy Martin after she moves in next door as she seems odd....with strange hearing problems, an inclination to fall down and more.
The other odd lady is the previously normal Dr. Timony (the therapist for Martin and Louisa). She has an accident and afterwords, she seems odd. Her self-judgment is now poor and when she interacts with folks she shows little common sense or discretion.
The third, and least important and least weird, is an American tourist (Sigourney Weaver in a bit role). She is appalled by the Doc's lousy bedside manner but she's also helped by him when she starts having some minor symptoms.
Additionally, Constable Penhale is amazingly offered a new job outside of Portwenn. Why anyone would think he was competent to do anything other than being an organ donor, I have no idea. And Penhale keeps asking his indifferent neighbors if he should leave. Only one seems to think he should stay.
Overall, this episode is an improvement over the last few--mostly because instead of focusing on Martin and Louisa and their VERY stagnant relationship, it's back on the townspeople and their interesting and quirky problems. Not one of the best episodes but clearly an improvement.
