Wires are visible during many of the chicken fights, attached to their legs, holding the birds from truly hurting themselves.
Chicken George is sold to an Englishman in the late 1830's and is taken to England, whee he is held as a slave for 20 years, when he is finally freed and returns to America shortly before the Civil war breaks out. Since Great Britain outlawed slavery throughout its Empire in 1833, Chicken George would have been a free man the second he set foot in England.
At around 1835, the character "Chicken" George Moore, a rooster fighting trainer, is in a rooster fight between his master and two two English rooster fighting owners. George's rooster loses and dies and in order to settle the bet, George is sold off to the two English men and moves to England for the next 14 years to be their slave
But, England outlawed slavery in 1825, so how could he be a slave there for 14 years?
It is known that he isn't freed in England because he has to come back to America in order to gain his freedom from Master Moore's will.
