The robot-battling world this film creates around internal angst is fantastical and real

Really enjoyed this short film -- It's a window into the emotional experience and frustration of personal relationships today, and how we build fortresses around ourselves. I'm a robot nerd so I loved the armor/robot imagery throughout. The main character has to confront questions of his relationship with his mother, his ex girlfriend, his self-worth -- and it's all manifested through battle scenes and an ongoing conversation with a disturbed psychiatrist-type figure. It reminded me very strongly of the struggle between the emotionless existence we live in major U.S. cities, and the desire to reach out to someone -- but you only meet the main character's ex-girlfriend through his own hangups and emotional processing of the end of their relationship.
