Good song, mediocre music video

Warning: Spoilers
"Time After Time" is a song by Cyndi Lauper from 1984, actually the year i was born, so this one will have its 35th anniversary 2 years from now. If you take a look at the title you will read the chorus of a song that you probably have come across already. And if not, then it is high time. Looking at the awards these slightly under 5 minutes received, it seems to me as if Lauper (around the age of 30 back then) was still very new to the industry and this was a bit of a breakthrough song for her. I myself certainly enjoy it more than her take on girls wanting to have fun. It is also deeper with the lyrics, even if I must say the music video did not really get the meaning across or add any depth to it really. And there is one really awkward moment when we see Lauper voice the lines from an old movie and hear the man's pretty deep voice while seeing her. I am sure it was not funny back then, but it was intended as sad I'm sure or melodramatic, but by today's standards and perception this was an awkwardly hilarious moment for sure. Okay, as a whole though thanks to the catchiness I give this one a positive rating and a thumbs-up even if it is a bit difficult doe me to state why you should watch the music video and not just check out the song without the video. Thumbs up.
