Reminded me of Office Space
mattymotivate5 February 2019
Funny film that is unapologetic about it's goofiness. The lead actor playing Craig is a mix of Lumbergh and the red stapler guy from Office Space. He cracked me up every time he was on screen.

Witty writing and all around fun. check this out for your late night smoke and drink movie, sit back and have a laugh or three.

Quite Unusual
rcantow15 December 2017
For some reason, the title and brief description caused me to assume that this might be a slapstick comedy, It wasn't that.Neither was it knee slappingly funny.Instead, it was funny in an earnest, charming and unexpected . The guy who quits his job doesn't know what he is in for and neither do we. What we soon find out is all the ways that life and living are full of surprises for those of us who actually spend our days working. We don't have a clue about what we are missing out on. For Craig, it is all inclusive: the good, the bad and the ugly and that is what makes this film unusual and fresh,. There is nothing run of the mill about it and I like that a lot! I apoplaud the filmmakers for holding on to their vision and giving us a little spice of life.

Odd, funny with a twist of the surreal!!
tmegalis-850-13777013 December 2017
Craig quits his job and the fun begins. This film is full of fun characters that seem to spin around Craig like tiny crazy planets. The hapless Craig quits his "lifer job" to get out from under a tyrant of a boss, and quickly falls head first into a seemingly parallel universe radiating from his apartment building.

The quitter self help group sessions were some of my favorite moments, with deadpan quirky performances by all the actors. Just a lot of fun.

Does Craig find love with Grace? Does he get his butt kicked by her supernatural tough guy boyfriend Klaus? Is Bing Crosby really in this film? Watch this funny movie and find out!

I applaud the filmmakers for putting together a comedy feature in Pittsburgh and showcasing some of Pittsburgh's finest actors. Way to go!!

Charming light comedy
Phil_Chester4 March 2020
A charming light comedy featuring a kooky bunch of misfits that you will warm to immediately. Refreshing to see an American comedy not set in the typical Hollywood milieu. Fresh and unexpected.

You want a real review? Don't watch this. Unbelievable bad acting, bad writing, horrid directing and those are the highlights.

Delightful quirky comedy about work life, or non-work life.

Delightful quirky comedy about work life, or non-work life. A lighthearted fantasy about being unhappy in a job and how to deal with it in a funny, unorthodox way with an affable main character and very colorful supporting and ancillary characters.

Light hearted encouragement for quitters!
makeupbycherelynn3 December 2017
This is a fun film to watch and was easy to access through Amazon Prime. A light hearted comedy with a wee touch of encouragement for the misfits of the employed and unemployed world. I really liked the soundtrack and characters, which I think most people would find something in common with one of them.

Fun, quirky comedy
JGReviews7 February 2019
Craig Quits His Day Job is about, well, a guy named Craig who quits his day job. Aptly titled haha. The film is a quirky comedy that follows the somewhat dorky Craig after he surprisingly quits his job and even gets ridiculed for it by his boss who calls him a "lifer" who will come crawling back by the end of the week. Craig is determined though and decides to unite the quitters around his neighborhood. The premise is a good setup for Craig to interact with a wide variety of funny eccentric characters -- the ones you'd expect have nothing else going on during business hours and who might be interested in joining a quitters group. The film is ultimately a fun, quirky, over-the-top comedy that is quite enjoyable. I'm continually on the lookout for good comedies to watch and I'd highly recommend Craig Quits His Day Job to anyone looking for the same.

Oddball and Self-Aware
alexanderhanno22 December 2018
At a glance, the premise seems familiar: a man quits his boring corporate job in hopes of finding some what he's really good at in life. Unfortunately, the titular Craig of "Craig Quits His Day Job" isn't really good at well... anything, and that includes quitting. Thus, we get a slacker comedy about the world's worst slacker which ends up leading to some very oddball, left field humor. Dare I say random? If you're a fan of this brand (Napoleon dynamite anyone?) then you'll enjoy Eric Paul Chapman's piece for sure. What ultimately makes the film work is that Craig is just such a quirky and soft guy, you can't really help but root for him in whatever odd goal he endeavors to achieve. Is there a moral in all this? Who knows and who cares: the laughs are worth it.

CRAIG QUITS HIS DAY JOB is a quirky and unpredictable comedy gem!
ryanbartongrimley30 November 2017
CRAIG QUITS HIS DAY JOB is a quirky and unpredictable comedy gem! I'm a big old comedy nerd and my favorite kind is situational and natural, so this film really did it for me. The lead actor Garrett Titlebaum is totally relatable and very talented, the story is not new, but the take on it is fun and fresh, and I love how the plot got a bit crazy and unpredictable, no spoilers here :) Also, the director/writer does a great job balancing the comedy and the tone, the music keeps really it moving and quirky and I really enjoyed it. All in all, a really fun indie comedy! NICE WORK!

More Napoleon Dynamite than Office Space
jameswelkins20 November 2016
Don't go into Craig Quits His Day Job expecting biting workplace satire. What you'll find instead is a very bizarre movie full of eccentric characters, non sequiturs, and absurdist humor. It starts off shaky and takes 10 minutes or so to find its groove, but once Craig leaves the office, this offbeat movie comes together, as Craig is pulled into the harebrained schemes of a wannabe criminal, helps his demented hoarder neighbor fulfill an ancient prophesy, gets recruited by Satanic cultists, and goes on a series of strange encounters and misadventures. Craig Quits His Day Job won't inspire you to leave your cubicle behind, but if you enjoy cult comedies and indie cinema, check it out.

Refreshing charmer
melissacenter22 June 2018
How refreshing to stumble upon a light, but heartfelt comedy in this moment in time. Craig Quits His Day Job is an endearing indie with quirky, well-drawn characters. I found the lead actor, Garrett Titlebaum super relatable, with comedy that didn't feel pushed. The whole film has an Office feel, but with its own twists.

Concept, Humor, Execution
TheAll-SeeingI21 December 2018
Eric Paul Chapman's "Craig Quits His Day Job" is an endearing iteration of the lovable loser tale. The story concept? Craig quits his day job. It's exceedingly straightforward and its sentiment is universal, and yet the premise is rarely played out on the big screen, and never with the boldly eccentric humor found here.

Garrett Titlebaum was a wise choice to fill the role of Craig. Like the film itself, Titlebaum is offbeat as hell, and because he's his own deal, it's difficult to compare him to historical actors. When a strange band of misfit neighbors emerge and huddle around Craig like some eccentric vagabond family, even this is personally accessible, as it reflects how most of us form our post-school friends.

"Craig Quits His Day Job" is that familiar but slightly off-looking face in the mirror that we suddenly realize is indeed a true image of ourselves. Chapman prevails by reminding us that because we're different, we've got that much in common. - (Was this review of use to you? If so, let me know by clicking "Helpful." Cheers!)

Good absurdist comedy
andrewwalshfilms25 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
One thing is for certain about Craig Quits His Day Job is that this is no hard boiled realistic drama.

It reminds me of David O. Russell's "I Heart Huckabees" or Paul Thomas Andersons "Licorice Pizza" in the sense that you have to let go accept this is an absurd world with no logic sit back and enjoy it.

Craig played perfectly by actor Garrett Titlebaum is your stereotypical spectacled introvert working a mindless office job and seems to avoid connecting with others at all costs.

We don't learn a great deal about Craig's background but you get the sense he doesn't know any other way of life.

This all changes when Craig has "an epiphany" and abruptly quits his job.

His cynical boss mocks him telling him he will come crawling back in a week.

Despite the discouragement Craig lets his guard down and opens himself up to the world trying to find fellow "quitters" he meets a variety of people as the week unfolds.

Theres the two Satanists live upstairs ironically seem intent to be Craig's guardian angels supporting him as much as they can much to his dismay.

There's Petty thief Bing who drags Craig along as an unwilling accomplice to several Ill thought out and poorly executed criminal acts

Finally there's the The angelic Grace (Jordan Streussnig) seems like the perfect woman for Craig if not for her alpha Boyfriend Klaus (Sully Martin) who delights in humiliating Craig at every opportunity.

One thing struck me throughout the film Theres always a sense that you cant tell if this is all really happening or each character is a figment of Craigs imagination- each one symbolisng something in his life that is missing. Thats the beauty of art everything is open to interpretation.

As the week ends we make it to the the climax is where Klaus physically drags Craig back to his old workplace and tries to get him To beg for his job and his old life back.

Craig now having experienced the joys and challenges of freedom refuses to conform and continues down his new path as uncertain as it may be.

Director Eric Chapman makes use of his low budget shooting in public locations that could be anywhere in dull small town America and the dialogue is sharp.

Each actor embraces the eccentricity of their characters and you can tell they had a lot of fun with it.

Craig quits his day job is a film for those who feel like they're stuck in a rut with their lives desperate to make a new start but just dont know how.

A dry sense of humor and quirky character make this film enjoyable !
undergroundprods8 November 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Craig quits his day job's dry sense of humor and quirky characters keep you on your toes for an enjoyable tale of quitters trying to unite with other likeminded individuals.

Trying to unite with fellow quitters is not an easy task... it's pretty hard to get them to commit and show up consistently. There are wacky and offbeat characters amongst Craig's neighbors but it is the pleasant and attractive Grace who reInvigorates Craig and gets his confidence and passion for life back up.

The fun characters and dry humor make an enjoyable and entertaining film well directed by ...Eric Paul Chapman. The lead Garett Titlebaum is likable as the beguiled and often misunderstood quitter who in the end finds his purpose. Enjoyed this film !

Quirky and funny and worth the watch!
williamgway11 April 2020
The title tells you want you are in for, but not that this movie delivers a funny, clever and well told comedy. Craig quits his job and finds like minded (and extremely funny) set of friends to join him. There are lots of gags and they work. Anyone tried sitting on those funky ball chairs!? Craig is a lovable loser that we do indeed find something in common. We root alongside. And does he succeed? The film keeps you guessing but you will enjoy the ride. Worth a watch!

Quirky Character Piece
wjaywill23 April 2020
I thought the film was a fun quirky story filled with comedic characters. It is an easy watch and a nice break from the overly dramatic films. The shooting style is simple but well-done and the acting is solid. If you are anything like me you should find the film enjoyable and it will leave you in a great mood.

For quirky quitters
AvaCincotti19 November 2023
If you're into indie movies and quirk comedy, you'll appreciate this. Craig decides to quit his job and during the week that follows, he encounters a bizarre variety of crazy characters (most of them live in his building), among which a sweet love interest.

I enjoyed the comedy that seems natural, the acting (some great scenes), the writing/directing by Eric Paul Chapman and the music! The best thing is that you can really tell these people had fun making an indie movie that's never pretentious.

As a professional quitter, I could relate to the protagonist, but happy to report that I didn't quit watching :)

Ode to the Oddball

If you are looking for a very quirky comedy about a very lovable slacker, this is your movie. It won't make you want to change the world, but it will get your mind off of the world and make you smile, laugh, and get the feels. It's nice to slow down sometimes and see the beauty in random people, and Craig Quits His Day Job is an ode to the oddball. If you're into random hilarity watch this comedy- you'll be glad you did!
