A homeless man, trafficked for forced labour, must win over a recent young recruit to keep them both safe from the ruthless gang who hold them prisoner. DRIFT is a Southern Gothic for the Britain of austerity and UKIP. It depicts the trafficking of vulnerable homeless men for forced labour and is inspired by a case which came to court in Luton in 2012. It is about agency and how we can come to accept the unacceptable.
Two homeless men, trafficked for forced labour, sit in a derelict room. Bisher, a recent recruit, is agitated and heavily bruised; Henrik is a veteran and has become almost trap-happy. Bound to each other by circumstance, one man must force his vision of their future onto the other.—Drift Films
