- Chuckie Finster: [about Trevor] See? Friends are like holidays - you can never have enough of them.
- Dil Pickles: Deep. You make that up?
- Chuckie Finster: Nope. I got it off a greeting card.
- [Kimi sits on her bed, rapidly opening and closing her hand fan; Chuckie comes in]
- Chuckie Finster: Kimi, I'm sorry I screwed up your kabuki thing. You mad?
- Kimi Finster: No, especially since I was just as lame as you were. Lamer, even.
- Chuckie Finster: It's not a total lose. We could always cash in on our humiliation by submitting the tape to America's Dumbest Home Videos.
- [Kimi giggles]
- Chuckie Finster: Goodnight. I mean, oyasumi.
- [they bow to each other; Chuckie goes to leave, but stops upon noticing Kimi's family tree]
- Kimi Finster: I finished it. What do you think?
- Chuckie Finster: [studies the family tree] I think...
- [crosses his arms]
- Chuckie Finster: I think... you're *missing* some *people*!
- Kimi Finster: Wha--? Who?
- Chuckie Finster: Me and my dad! How come we're not on here? Don't we count?
- Kimi Finster: Of course you count!
- Chuckie Finster: I spent days practicing kabuki, learnt Japanese, even wore *bird poop* on my face, and I don't get a branch on your family tree? Not even a measly twig? And let me tell ya something, sister! Bird poop is a *lot* thicker... than... *water*!
- Kimi Finster: You don't understand, Chuckie! I love you and you'll *always* be my brother, but the truth is... I'm not... a real Finster.
- [Chuckie gasps; fade to black]
- [last lines; Chuckie is fast asleep; Kimi stands in the doorway and rapidly turns the bedroom light on and off; Chuckie opens his eyes]
- Kimi Finster: Time to get up.
- Chuckie Finster: [puts on his glasses and groans] It's 5:00AM, and it's Saturday.
- [pulls the covers over his head]
- Kimi Finster: [approaches Chuckie's bed] Nicole's party is tonight, and from what Susie said, you need all the skating practice you can get.
- Chuckie Finster: [tosses and turns under the covers] Oh, why don't you start being a Finster again later?
- Kimi Finster: [groans] Brothers.
- [pulls the covers off; she and Chuckie pillow fight and laugh; outside view of the Finster house]
- Charles "Chas" Finster: Keep it down in there!
- Kimi Finster, Chuckie Finster: Sorry, Dad!
- [they laugh; fade to black]
- Kimi Finster: [talking on the phone whilst laying on her belly on her bed] My great-uncle? No way! Yeah, I wrote it all down. OK, bye, Dad. I love you too.
- [hangs up; Chuckie enters with an ink pad and a roll of paper]
- Chuckie Finster: Why are you calling Dad on the phone when he's right downstairs?
- Kimi Finster: [scoffs] Not that dad, my *other* dad. You know, the one who *looks* like me.
- [sits up]
- Chuckie Finster: Oh, right. Sometimes I forget. Lose a sock. I need your footprint for my family tree: Finster Feet Throughout the Ages.
- [opens the ink pad]
- Chuckie Finster: You get pink.
- [Kimi takes off her right sock]
- Chuckie Finster: So, when are you teaching me how to skate? Nicole's party is, let's see... *soon*!
- Kimi Finster: [walks over and presses her barefoot on the ink pad] Oh, Chuckie! I'm just so knee-deep in research, and it's really important to me.
- Chuckie Finster: [unrolls his picture of a tree with coloured footprints on it] Well, learning to skate is really important to me!
- Kimi Finster: [adds her footprint to the picture] Chuckie, this is my *life* we're talking about!
- [sits back down on her bed; Chuckie groans, collects his picture and leaves]
- Kira Finster: [holding a bonsai tree] Your great-grandmother was famous for cultivating the smallest bonsai trees in all of UNKNOWN PLACE.
- Kimi Finster: No *wonder* I like tiny corn! What about my great-grandparents on the other side?
- Kira Finster: You mean, your father's-- Um, *Hiro's* side of the family?
- Kimi Finster: Yeah! I want to know everything!
- Kira Finster: [touches Kimi's shoulder] In that case, you better call Hiro when he gets back to Japan next week. I want to show you something, Kimi-chan.
- [they go to the garage; Kira opens a trunk; Kimi takes out a hand fan and fans her hair; Kira takes out two kimonos]
- Kira Finster: Try it on.
- [they do so and stand in front of a mirror]
- Kira Finster: It's almost like going back in time.
- [they bow; Kira's kimono rips and exposes her underwear]
- Kira Finster: Apparently, *very* far back.
- [Kimi laughs]
- [Tommy, Dil, Trevor, Phil, Lil, Betty and Susie are attending a Japanese tea ceremony at the Finster house; Chas, Kira, Chuckie and Kimi wear kimonos]
- Kimi Finster: And the ceremony is my way of introducing you to my Japanese culture.
- [clasps her hands and bows]
- Kimi Finster: Hai dozo.
- [everybody repeats the gesture]
- Betty DeVille: [her back cracks as she bows] Hai *dozo*!
- [groans]
- Betty DeVille: My back! OK, carry on. I'm fine.
