The safe-house Skye is held in was built by Bruce Banner. A hole can be seen punched in a wall. Steve Rogers also stayed there after being de-frosted. However, it is not the same cabin that Banner was seen in at the very end of The Incredible Hulk (2008) as at that time he was still on the run and not in a position to design protective walls with help from S.H.I.E.L.D.
This episode contains several flashbacks to the day S.H.I.E.L.D. fell, making them take place during the events of Captain America: The Winter Soldier (2014) and Turn, Turn, Turn (2014).
One of the lockers in the locker room has the name Mimikakis written on tape on it. Lanie Mimikakis worked in the art department on the series.
Lucy Lawless and Edward James Olmos previously appeared together as enemies and later as allies in Battlestar Galactica (2004).
This is the fourth episode in which Agent Weaver makes an appearance in the series. It is the second time in Season 2 of the show, her first time being in Seeds (2014).
