Demi Lovato and Nick Jonas are business partners and friends, but could they be something more? On Friday, Demi released 12 new songs on her sixth studio album, Tell Me You Love Me, and one of the sexy tracks, "Ruin the Friendship," immediately raised eyebrows on social media. Produced by Ido Zmishlany, she wrote the song with Brittany Amaradio. "Put down your cigar and pick me up (pick me up)," she crooned. "Play me your guitar, that song I love (song I love)." (In addition to playing the guitar and other instruments, Nick is known to enjoy smoking cigars.) In the chorus, Demi passionately sang, "Your body's looking good tonight / I'm thinking we should cross the line / Let's...

And just a week after the highly entertaining reboot of the web-slinger, here comes another franchise reboot, but rather than a first entry, here’s the third chapter, the rumored final one (only the grosses will tell) of a trilogy launched six years ago. But its roots go back nearly 50 years (we’re getting into Bond territory). Oh, and this is really the second reboot (first one didn’t…take). That original ancestor is that 1968 classic Planet Of The Apes, the movie that gave Charlton Heston an iconic role not from biblical times, rather it established him as a science fiction star (mainly in dour futures as with The Omega Man and Soylent Green). Sure Chuck brought the adults in and made it “respectable”, but for the younger set, the flick was all about the fabulous simian make-ups enveloping some great character actors. Those John Chambers designed prosthetics continued on...

Not everything can be about work. Sometimes you’ve got to switch off and kick back. So while you prep that next big move, rehearsal or role, London is here, ready and waiting to entertain and delight. The continent-wide search for Europe’s best pop song is a camp, kitsch extravaganza and should not be missed. First of all let’s just get this out of the way, I am a sucker for books and movies that feature prominent moments and figures from American History no matter how ridiculous the concept seemed. For example in films movies like Wild Wild West and Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter. Also in books titles like American Legends (Top Cow Productions Inc. & Image Comics) and All Star Western (DC Comics) and well you get the trend. Now Adam Glass through Aftershock Comics has released a very interesting book called “Rough Riders”. Which features a team of soon to be legends such as Theodore Roosevelt, Thomas Edison, Harry Houdini as well as others. They are set to travel to Cuba and defeat a threat using alien technology to destroy American vessels. The cover alone sold me the book as it features the team of Rough Riders in an antique style color palette...

Put down the turkey for a few minutes, and feast your eyes on not one but two (in both the red bad and green band variety) trailers for next year’s highly anticipated Deadpool. Seriously, those experiencing a bit of super hero fatigue will find a lot to like in this hilarious and irreverent take on the uber popular genre. At the very least, it should redeem Ryan Reynolds when it comes to his comic book roles. Released: 12th February 2016Synopsis: Based upon Marvel Comics’ most unconventional anti-hero, Deadpool tells the origin story of former Special Forces operative turned mercenary Wade Wilson, who after being subjected to a rogue experiment that leaves him with accelerated healing powers, adopts the alter ego Deadpool. Armed with his new abilities and a dark, twisted sense of humor, Deadpool hunts down the man who nearly destroyed his life.

Last weekend, as the weather began to turn crisp and cold, the ninth iteration of the Buffalo International Film Festival went off, to bigger crowds and bigger acclaim than ever before.
The Film Stage’s first-produced short film Strange Bird was lucky enough to be included in the line-up, premiering at the newly-restored North Park Theatre on Hertel Avenue in front of writer/director Perry Blackshear’s Diy-thriller They Look Like People, which won a Special Jury Award at the Slamdance Film Festival along with a slew of other accolades at several impressive fests.
It was a bittersweet year for the festival following the passing of its founder, Edward Summer, in November of 2014. An accomplished artist, writer and filmmaker, Summer was celebrated throughout this year’s proceedings, including a touching memorial during the fest’s opening night gala.
In Summer’s hands, Biff emerged as an annual event for local cinephiles,...
