All locations seen in the film are with in 5 miles of each other and were shot in 1 day.
During the train station scenes production found itself colliding with the Centennial Anniversary of the State of Arizona. Production had to move to the opposite side of the train and the noise from the event caused production to schedule re-shoots.
The Story of May Beaver was restructured around the Voice Over in order the make the film work in the end.
The "Junk Mobil" featured in the film is actually a daily driver, owned by producer Dave Kahrl.
