Can't afford an artwork?
HelloChung21 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
Was watching the episode where she was doing her bedroom. She said she was going to do her own artwork because she can't afford to buy them. Then...she and her friends cleaned out her old closet, where she ditched many of her clothes, some were a few hundred dollars apiece, many with the price tag still on......Ummmm....... This show is dumb! If you can afford such a big house, expensive renovations, please use another reason to say why you want to do your artwork. e.g. "I want to add my personal touch", or "I have this idea where I want to create my own artwork", instead of saying "I can't afford to buy artwork!!". Be sensitive. by the look of the amount of work that's being done on your house, you can afford a lot of things!

So disappointing!

Warning: Spoilers
I was really looking forward to watching this show. There were so many previews showing Jennie Garth doing all this remodeling on her new house. I was looking forward to getting new ideas, learning new techniques and listening to the occasional witty banter. None of these items were provided. The staged conversations were a joke and not funny ha ha, roll your eyes, shake your head & turn the channel funny. All the diy projects were done by construction workers, oh yea, Jennie did hang about five tiles and spray painted some wicker chairs. She was very rude and condescending to her contractor whom she had to admit to that she was wrong and he was right. She even got to drop some useful decorating terms like "felty thingys". I will not torture myself to sit through another episode, watch at your own risk.

Way to go Jennie Garth!!!!

I love watching the Jennie Garth Project and look forward to the next episodes. It is nice and refreshing to watch a celebrate be down to earth. Jennie is the designer, but also tries to get her hands a little dirty once in a while, like many other designers on other HGTV shows. Yes, I'm sure she butts heads with the contractor just like any designer does when trying to get his/her picture or idea across. On or off the screen. Jennie shows us her human side, when she gets upset stating her mind to her friend who is also her contractor. Then she realizes her mistakes or judgment may not have been the best choice and goes and apologizes on national television which wouldn't have been easy for anyone. She also holds her ground when she has a picture in her mind of how she wants something and strives to achieve it. I love the bedrooms and how she keeps each of her girls in mind making them to match their personalities.

I am proud of the fact that Jennie realized she needed a contractor on hand, but yet tries to learn and not hold herself back from new experiences. He is trained to know how to remodel a house and yet Jennie who isn't is trying to learn from him and the other workers how to do it herself. This should encourage us woman to try. Jennie also knows she needs the professionals there to help make the right choices. While also trying to save money as a single mom and reuse the items that aren't broken. Jennie has a lot on her mind as a single mom, but yet she's taking the time to put into this house and also bring the design in her mind to reality.

I have learned along with her, which is what to me this show is all about. For use to get off our bottoms and try to learn as long as we also have someone there that knows the right way to do things so we don't have problems later. Do it right the first time, but learn along the way. While striving to show others how you see things and want them to look in your own home. Jennie states what she wants to see and expects the contractor who is trained to know how to make that happen without mistakes. No one is perfect and Jennie shows how even celebrates have a bad day sometimes. In the end this is Jennies house she is designing it how she wants it to be. I enjoy the inside look not just all the flashiness of celebrates. Thank you Jennie for doing the show. I wish others realized that celebrates had feelings and consider this when writing reviews that the person will be reading it. It's OK to be honest, but we don't need to hurt someone else to do it. I enjoy the show and know others who do too!

can we say spoiled rotten!
shebacat1 October 2014
I usually love HGTV shows, but this one is the exception. Unlike the Brian Boitano show which was great, the Jennie Garth remodel is horrible. One of the main problems is that Jennie Garth is spoiled rotten and really nasty to her crew. She didn't hire a designer, which she seems quite proud of, but should of as she has made some pretty poor design choices. When the professionals try to help her or she doesn't get her way all she does is throw a tantrum. What a waste! Then there's her voice - don't get me started. Let's just say she's very whiny. I can't even stand the commercials anymore. Note to HGTV, before letting another celebrity do one of these shows, make sure they are not going to be so annoying.

Horrible

What a fake and horrible show. She is not designing it on her own and has a contractor. So why does she qualify for her own show??? i don't get it. She needs to be put out to pasture at this point in her career. HGTV should be about serious home and garden people teaching us new ways to improve our lives and homes. Let her have her won show on Lifetime or O. I am sad that HGTV promoted this show for over a month. The promos were every 5 minutes and promoted her as some kind of contractor/designer. I hope HGTV gets back to what they do best. Good info and entertaining hosts, not has-been TV stars. And where is Design Stars? Loved that show.

Snooze Fest!

The Jenny Garth Project is a complete waste of time! Jenny lacks any creative talent. She has always been a decent performer in my opinion until now. We really get to see the real person behind "Jenny Garth". Jenny acts like a spoiled little girl that has a temper tantrum when she doesn't get her way. Her poor staff can't even give an original opinion or advice due to her controlling ways. And what's up all her baby talk??? Annoying!!! By the way Jenny...you are not funny so stop trying. I say, lets cancel the Jenny Garth Project and get the Property Brothers/Scott Brothers another new series. We all love their sweet calming personalities and their great sense of humor!
