this is the story of a maid in a mansions that realizes weird things are happening all over the mansion. things like a mysterious smile gets drawn on a very foggy window. there is also a chef that makes soup and gives larger helpings to the maid (which isn't really that weird). I laughed. it was kind of funny. there were some funny lines. it had some funny visuals. it's only about ten minuets long. all around it was worth watching. it is the pilot to a show that didn't get started. it can be found online. the cannibal joke was funny. so was the werewolf joke. there isn't that much else to say because this is just one very short little episode and it doesn't have any other episodes in the show to compare it to either.

Warning: Spoilers
"Blackford Manor" is a 6-minute animated short film from 2014 and it is the only effort so far by prolific South Korean animator Jiwook Kim as the man in charge of directing, writing and producing. The story takes place at a creepy manor and follows a young maid, who is surprisingly normal given the location and circumstances, and how she finds out that something mysterious, perhaps gruesome is going on at the place. I liked the animation for the most part. Took me a little while to get used to the character design, but I did pretty quickly too. The three voice actors were all top-notch. I am not sure if this little film was made with the idea that if successful enough, then it could be turned into a recurring series starring these characters, but as this one is already over 3 years old now, it seems as if it's never gonna happen. A bit of a pity because if they were able to deliver regularly in terms of the quality we have here, then I'd probably watch this series. Anyway, back to this film: It combines fun with creepiness, but really it's all about the fun and everybody working on it did a fairly good job. Worth checking out for everybody who loves stuff set in the same tone as Hotel Transylvania for example. I give this one a thumbs-up. Without hesitation.
