During the first few takes of pretending to hit Danny Hicks with the car, Vin Parr accidentally really did. In the shot from outside the passenger window you can see that Danny was scooped up by the car, smashing into the windshield. The cracks in the glass were actually made from the impact.
Even though footage of Danny Hicks was captured of him smashing into the windshield of the car, the actual glass breaking was missed. However, if the shot taken from the passenger window is watched in slow motion, fragments of the glass can be seen flying through the air.
So not too waste the accidentally cracked windshield, several shots were made up on the spot to incorporate it into the film.
None of the items in the yard nor house where added for the film. The location came with everything already in place.
$187 of the estimated $300 budget was used to replace the accidentally cracked windshield.
