- The film contains an implied scene of homosexual activity between Oscar and a stranger whom he meets at a party. The sexual act is only implied as the scene is shown without detail, with the camera focusing mainly on the protagonist's upper body and facial expressions.

- In one of the scenes, Oscar hallucinates that he is pulling out an iron rod that is protruding from his abdomen.
- In another sequence, a group of boys is seen attacking another boy with an iron rod. There is a close-up shot of the iron rod being twisted, suggesting that it is being used to inflict pain on the victim. The focus, however, is on the rod with no depiction of the victim's reaction. In a later scene, the rod is seen lying next to the victim's dead body, with blood stains on it.
