- After Molly collapses and experiences a vision of her encounter on the Seraphim, Sam agrees to give her an ultrasound so she can learn more about her mysterious pregnancy. Also, Molly tracks down Kryger and he reveals the disturbing details of his own solo mission that the International Space Exploration Agency (ISEA) is keeping secret.—Jiilo_Kim
- Molly collapses at home but not before again seeing her dead boyfriend Marcus Dawkins. Molly tells Sam Barton that Harmon Kryger is still alive and learns that she has the same brain scan abnormalities as he did. Molly meets him and he describes what he saw during his tour on the station. His conclusion is that he and Molly were being experimented on by the ISEA. Molly has an ultrasound. Meanwhile, John has his first day at the ultra-modern lab facilities provided by Hideki Yasumoto.—garykmcd
- Molly wakes up to a thumping sound coming from somewhere in the house. She goes to investigate and finds it's being caused by shoes in the dryer.
John greets her with a kiss, gets Ethan dressed and goes off to work. They talk about their plans for the day, including a lunch date.
At ISEA, Director Sparks asks Sam about Molly's test results. Sam assures him he'll get them as soon as she does.
John gets a tour of his new lab from Julie (Grace Gummer). It's everything he's ever wanted. Ms. Dodd (Annie Wersching) the member of the board who he had an argument is there. Julie assures him there's nothing to worry about since they have Ethan.
Back home, Molly hears the thumping sound again. When she goes to investigate she notices the dryer is not on. Suddenly she doubles over in pain. When she looks up, Marcus is standing in the kitchen saying "it's okay".
Back at the lab, John and Julie are monitoring Ethan's vitals. They notice something is off but John assumes it's Ethan's excitement to go to the museum for a friend's birthday party.
Ethan hears a thud. He goes downstairs and finds Molly passed out on the floor. He notices strange movement on her abdomen before she wakes up and tells him she's okay.
At the museum, Ethan plays with the others kids and isn't scared when the holographic image of an elephant approaches him. Sam meets Molly there and Molly tells her what happened earlier. Molly tells Sam that she saw Harmon. Sam tells her Harmon had abnormalities in his brain scans, she thinks it's some sort of neurovirus. Sam also says that when comparing Molly's scan and Harmon's scans she noticed similar abnormalities. Molly wants an ultrasound to confirm her pregnancy. Sam complies but says she has to find somewhere to do it on the down low. One of the other moms interrupts and says they can't find Ethan.
Ethan is talking to one of the robots in the evolution exhibit. The robot talks about how neanderthals went extinct because they were weak and a better, stronger species came along, the Homo sapiens. Ethan asks what a Homo sapien is. The robot says that the current humans are part of the Homo sapiens and points out that he is one. He says he is not. The robot apologizes and asks what species he is. Before he can answer, Molly comes rushing to him and tells him he can't run off like that. They talk about secrets. Ethan says his dad told him secrets are bad. Molly says they're not always bad and that sometimes they keep people from worrying about things that they don't need to worry about, like her falling. Ethan asks her if she's weak. She says no and they promise to keep each others' secrets. Harmon is seen watching from above.
Flashback to Harmon in the space station. He is working on something similar to what Molly was. The power goes off due to a solar flare. He goes to investigate and sees footprints on the floor. He looks up and sees his mother. She's been dead for 30 years.
Molly goes to ISEA and tries to access footage of Harmon's mission. She is is only able to see the footage of the lab cameras but while watching it Ben is forced to shut it down. She runs to the bathroom and removes a chip that monitors her medical condition. She runs out of the building where Harmon pulls up in a car and tells her to get in. She gets in and they drive off.
Deputy Director Gordon (Maury Sterling) informs Sparks. Gordon asks if he should bring her back in but Sparks says not yet.
Harmon takes Molly back to where he's living. He tells her of his experience aboard the space station.
Flashback to the space station: Harmon's mom touches his face in the same way Marcus touched Molly's. She puts her hand over his abdomen and does something. He becomes startled and runs back into the previous room, shutting the door behind him. He quickly begins barricading the door with equipment. Suddenly, the lights turn off and when they come back on his mother is standing right next to him. He floats away with her walking after him. Eventually he traps her in a compartment which he then releases into space.
In present time: Harmon tells Molly the people at ISEA didn't believe him and said he was schizophrenic. He thinks they were part of an experiment measuring their response in a very stressful environment. He says they'll bug her phone and quarantine her and that no one will believe her, not even the ones she loves.
Cut to John waiting for her at a restaurant. Molly is late. She's in the car with Sam. She tells her about Harmon seeing his mom and about her seeing Marcus. They arrive at vet office where Sam does the ultrasound. It shows a healthy and normal 14-week old baby.
Molly confronts Sparks. She asks him what he did to her and tells him that she's 14-weeks pregnant. He assures her that he didn't do anything and that he'll find out who did.
Sparks tells Yasumoto about Molly's pregnancy. Yasumoto says it changes everything and that "they" are already here. He also says they're honoring Sparks' daughter's sacrifice.
When Sparks leaves, Yasumoto walks up to a finger scanner that tells him he has a life expectancy of 102 days. Ms. Dodd walks in and asks him if he's going downstairs soon.
Molly gets home and apologizes to John about missing their lunch date. He says to take her time with whatever she's going through but that she doesn't need to go through it alone. He heats her up a plate of leftovers.
Ethan shows Molly a drawing. It's a family on a spaceship where they are safe from extinction. He tells her he kept her secret.
