A California family of four has been found safe in Belém, Brazil, on Wednesday after missing since Sunday.

As confusion enveloped the Oscars stage on Sunday night, and it became apparent that a mistake had been made in announcing the Best Picture winner, host Jimmy Kimmel’s writers felt another tinge of panic.

It came as no surprise in October that Michael Moore’s secret documentary “Michael Moore in Trumpland” was a pro-Hillary Clinton film urging Americans to vote for the democratic presidential nominee on November 8. Moore has been one of the most vocal and politically active filmmakers of his generation, if not the most active, and he felt that too much of the election conversation was dominated by negativity.

Well, Mr. Davis did have one screen credit, which we’ll discuss in a bit. No, more importantly John Burton “Jack” Davis, Jr. has added to the fun, or to use an old term “ballyhoo”, of promoting movies for well over fifty years. Lady Gaga gave a powerful performance of "Til It Happens to You" from the documentary on campus rape, The Hunting Ground. Gaga and songwriter Diane Warren are nominated for Best Original Song.
Gaga appeared from behind a frame and sitting at a piano. She dramatically delivered the ballad that built up as a string orchestra joined in. The performance climactically ended with a group of sexual assault survivors surrounding Gaga at the piano with the words "Not Your Fault" written on their arms. Both Gaga and Warren are survivors of sexual assault.

For once, we have an Oscar race with some actual suspense.
Last year, "Boyhood" and "Birdman" went neck-and-neck for most of awards season, but by the home stretch, the results were easy to predict if you were paying attention. This year, with three strong contenders for Best Picture, guessing who'll go home with trophies on Sunday is that much harder.
Nonetheless, most of the acting categories, as well as a few others, have been pretty much locked down for months. Here, then, are my picks for who'll triumph at the 88th Academy Awards, based on research, many years spent covering the Oscars, and my gut feelings.

Could this be the year that perennial Oscar also-ran Diane Warren finally wins? After all, she's teamed with Lady Gaga, who's been on a roll lately, in creating the tune "Til It Happens To You," from "The Hunting Ground." Warren's...

Diane Warren had just gotten home from watching Lady Gaga rehearse with a full orchestra for her Oscar night performance. Gaga will sing “Til It Happens to You,” the song she and Warren wrote about rape, nominated for Best Song. In the corridors and changing rooms behind the stage, people were whispering about Kesha — whose rape accusation against producer Dr. Luke is sending ripples through the music world and has led to a standoff in court with her erstwhile label at Sony, which is holding her to a recording contract. The Eagles guitarist-singer Glenn Frey was among several beloved artists to get the Grammys tribute treatment Monday night. The Eagles led an emotional tribute to their late bandmate, who died last month at 67 due to complications from rheumatoid arthritis, acute ulcerative colitis and pneumonia. Eagles co-founders Don Henley and Bernie Leadon, and guitarist Joe Walsh and bassist Tim Schmit took the stage to perform the Grammy-winning band's first single, "Take It Easy." They were joined by singer-songwriter Jackson Browne, who co-wrote the 1972 hit with Frey. Frey fans on Twitter were moved by the heartfelt tribute: Jackson co-wrote 'Take it Easy' with Glenn Frey.

Glenn here bringing you some more trivia from this year’s best original song category. Obviously, I could be mistaken about some of these, but, well, in which case la la la, not listening, move along.
Trivia #1 – 2016 marks the first time in Oscar history that two documentaries have ever been nominated in a category outside of the non-fiction categories. While documentaries have been nominated in the original song category in the past – Mondo Cane in ’62 being the first, I believe – and Hoop Dreams scored a best editing nomination in 1995, this year both The Hunting Ground’s “Til It Happens to You” and Racing Extinction’s “Manta Ray” make for a first that two have been cited.
Trivia #2 – This year’s nomination for “Manta Ray” is the third nomination for an enviro-doc in this category in the last decade. While Melissa Etheridge’s “I Need to Wake Up” from An Inconvenient Truth...

2016 is looking to be a big year for Paul Gulacy, with the long-awaited reprinting of his groundbreaking Master of Kung Fu series and as a guest of Honor at the San Diego Comic-Con. But in some ways every year is a big year for Paul. He’s a tireless workhorse who is always creating and producing gorgeous artwork. I’ve had the pleasure of working with Paul on a few projects (please don’t ask about the Lady Gaga thing) and it’s always been enjoyable and invigorating. This interview is no exception. As you’ll see, Paul is witty and wistful and, as always, honest and authentic. He’s the real deal.
Ed Catto: Marvel has announced that the trademark and licensing rights to Master of Kung Fu have been resolved and they are finally reprinting the series. How do you feel about that and how do you feel...

Lady Gaga's Oscar-nominated song about rape hits close to home for her family. On Saturday, the 29-year-old singer got candid about the personal significance of her ballad "Til It Happens to You" at the Producers Guild Awards in Los Angeles. Sitting at her piano before belting the tune - which she recorded for The Hunting Ground - a documentary about the realities of rape on college campuses - Gaga (né Stefani Joanne Germanotta) explained how her aunt Joanne Germanotta's life was forever changed by sexual assault. "It's not only an important issue to me, but it's an important issue...

Less than 24 hours after she accused Lady Gaga of not genuinely earning an Oscar nomination for Best Original Song, musician Linda Perry has apologized for her remarks.
Perry, who caused a Twitter firestorm early Monday morning with her insistence that Gaga had little to no hand in writing the song, "Til It Happens to You," later deleted the string of tweets (which you can still read in our original story) that claimed that co-writer Diane Warren was the sole songwriter, and perhaps gave Gaga a co-writing credit to get the tune more attention -- and an Oscar nomination. But Perry was widely criticized on the social media site, and by late Monday had taken down her posts, and replaced them with an apology.
"I made a mistake to comment," Perry tweeted. "I wasn't in the room when the [song] was being written."

Linda Perry is retracting her tweets regarding Lady Gaga's Oscar nod. Perry has now deleted her previous tweets in which she alleged Gaga contributed just one line to the hit song, "Til It Happens to You", which, she said, did not warrant Gaga getting a nomination. "My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment. I wasn't in the room when the #Tihty was being written," the songwriter and producer, 50, wrote adding, "More importantly, I wish the focus to remain on the great importance of the song and the message of the film." My sincere apologies. I made a mistake to comment.

Lady Gaga became a first-time Oscar nominee (and possible Egot contender) last week for co-writing the song "Til It Happens to You," from the documentary "The Hunting Ground." But according to another singer-songwriter, Gaga doesn't deserve the nomination.
Linda Perry, the former lead singer of '90s band 4 Non Blondes, took to Twitter early Monday morning to allege that the tune, co-written by multi-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren, was in fact wholly written by Warren, who then gave Gaga co-writing credit in an effort to get the song more attention. Perry said that she heard Warren's original demo of the tune, and it only featured one line that was different from the final, Gaga-performed product -- a difference so minor that she doubts Gaga had much to do with writing the song at all.

Linda Perry wants to know "What's Up" with Lady Gaga's Oscar nod. The songwriter and producer, 50, took to Twitter on Sunday to voice her opinion about Gaga's Best Original Song nomination for "Til It Happens to You," the track Gaga cowrote with Diane Warren for The Hunting Ground, a documentary about rape on college campuses. Perry alleges that the "Born This Way" singer contributed just one line to the hit song, which, she says, hardly warrants a nomination. "I love Gaga so much respect and love this song that has nothing to do with anything," Perry Tweeted. Congratulations to...

Singer and actress Lady Gaga has had one hell of a month. First she won a Golden Globe for her performance in American Horror Story and then she was nominated for an Oscar for her song, "Til it Happens to You" from The Hunting Ground. Except now, her co-writing of that song is being called into question, by somebody who knows something about it. The academy award Best Original Song goes to the writers, not the performers of the song in question. While Lady Gaga performed the tune, she.s also credited as co-writer of the song, along with prolific songwriter Diane Warren, who.s been nominated for this award eight previous times. However, Linda Perry of the band 4 Non Blondes is questioning the co-writing credit for Gaga. Perry took to Twitter, summarized by Uproxx, to compliment Warren for the nomination, but only gave Gaga her props for the performance.

Lady Gaga is using her Oscar nomination to send a strong message. Gaga, 29, took to Twitter on Thursday to pen a heartfelt note, thanking the Academy for the recognition, and celebrating the impact the song has had on the sexual abuse community. "This nomination lends a voice to victims and survivors all over the world," she wrote on an old-school typewriter. "Thank you to The Academy for recognizing the movement of people who have come together for this film & song in the name of sexual assault." Til It Happens To You my original score with @Diane_Warren for "The Hunting Ground...

While diverse, this year's nominees in the Academy Awards' Best Original Song category are competing on an even playing ground. Most of the writers and performs are first-time nominees, with two-time Best Documentary winner J. Ralph and, now, eight-time Best Original Song Nominee Diane Warren as the exceptions. Still, it's an Oscar-winner free game and has many hitmakers vying for a very rare award for musicians to nab.

Lady Gaga is still coming to terms with the sexual assault that she says made her "question everything." In The Hollywood Reporter's podcast, "Awards Chatter," the singer spoke candidly about her emotional song "Til It Happens to You" and the horrific experience that inspired the hit. "The person that I'm singing to is the person that wants to heal me - I'm telling them they can't," she said of the song. "I am so sick of people walking in and out of my life, telling me that I'm gonna be okay, because I am still in so much pain that you can't understand.

"Every time I sing that song it's difficult for me," says music icon Lady Gaga as I sit down with her and seven-time best original song Oscar nominee Diane Warren at Gaga's Malibu estate to discuss "Til It Happens to You," the song they co-wrote and Gaga performs in Kirby Dick's Oscar-shortlisted documentary The Hunting Ground, which highlights the epidemic of sexual assault on American college campuses. "But it's healing people," Warren reassures her. "Absolutely," adds Gaga. (You can play and read the conversation below or by clicking here you can download it

Tuesday night at the Peninsula Hotel in Beverly Hills, we witnessed the tender side of Lady Gaga, as she hit the campaign trail in support of Best Original Song Oscar contender "Til It Happens to You," from "The Hunting Ground," the Oscar-shortlisted doc about sexual assault on college campuses. Accompanied by co-writer and seven-time Oscar nominee Diane Warren, Gaga gave a slightly more somber performance (in contrast to the defiance displayed in her recorded version for the Kirby Dick-directed doc). Gaga, who recently admitted to being a rape survivor, said she's humbled by the outpouring of support for the song. "I wanted it to be empowering," she added. Listen: "6 Best Original Song Oscar Contenders Get Deeply Personal" For her part, Warren said she hopes that both the movie and the song will help young girls stand up to sexual abuse, while Dick said he will continue making provocative docs,...
