- Balfour overhears Lowe confess to Kate of being an English spy sent to kill Blackbeard and he tells Selima, who sends pirates to find Lowe. Antoinette's torture continues at the hands of Jagger, now using Lowe's sketchbook as evidence that Edward "Blackbeard" Teach is alive. To comfort herself, she recites an encrypted rhyme. Jagger cracks the code - the chronometer Blackbeard sold to the Spanish will lead the fleet to a surprise attack from Blackbeard himself, the only one who knows where the Spaniards, and their treasure, will be.—Jiilo_Kim
- Tom Lowe returns with the surgical instrument, carefully passes a hostile examination on cranial surgery by Selima without excessive promises and performs it, afterward confiding in Tim it wasn't necessary and may merely relieve his headaches. Regular torture failing on mad captive Antoinette, governor Jagger uses Lowe's sketchbook to prove Edward "Blackbeard" Teach, the object of her hatred, is alive and deduces from nursery rhymes he taught her the pirate's master-plan is to rob the Spanish silver fleet which the doctored chronometer will lead astray. Lowe confides in Kate being a crown spy as proof of his love, but she can't forgive such 'treason' and must be sedated so ha can escape. He ignored being overheard by cuckolded James Balfour, who gets Selima during the Commodore's unconscious recovery to order Tom arrested. A battle of ruthless greed ends with Neena cutting blackmailer Rose's throat.—KGF Vissers
