This episode was filmed for season one prior to the season 1 episode 19 "Farkles Choice". The fish the Farkle kills (Chelsea 4), by dropping her off the Empire State Building, is shown on the screen in the "In Memoriam" segment of the Buggy Awards, hosted by Jane Lynch. You can see Farkle wince during that shot when Chelsea appears on the screen.
When the kids are gathered in Riley's room and she tells the kids that Chelsea I is dead, she then goes on to explain that "someone in this room is the.." Auggie interrupts with "Murderer", said in the same way Cory said the same word in the Boy Meets World episode: "Then There was Shawn".
Actor Hugh Dane who played Phil in this episode, also played a Basketball coach in "Boy Meets World(1993)" in the episode The B-Team of Life.
