When it comes to young actresses, there’s no doubt that American actress Cameron Seely stands out. It was her performance as the character Mary on The Jim Gaffigan Show that first brought her into the public eye. Another role that really put her out there was Helen Barnum in the well-known historical musical film The Greatest Showman. In the film, she got to star alongside the great Hugh Jackman, Zac Efron, and others. While she’s still quite young, the actress got her start in acting quite early. In fact, when she played Helen Barnum in The Greatest Showman, she was just 10 years...

David Lowery is a square peg who refuses to let Hollywood fit him into a round hole.
In the 10 years since the filmmaker broke out with "Ain't Them Bodies Saints" (the 2013 romantic crime drama that /Film's review describes as "Cormac McCarthy by way of 'The Assassination of Jesse James By the Coward Robert Ford'"), Lowery has gone from helming acclaimed high art indie dramas to earnest Disney films and dream-like fantasy epics. His latest offering, "Peter Pan and Wendy," marks yet another hard pivot for Lowery, bringing him back into the world of live-action Disney remakes -- sorry, re-imaginings, as the House of Mouse insists on calling them -- for a new take on J.M. Barrie's fairy tale that looks to bring something genuinely fresh to the oft-told story, which would be quite the accomplishment in and of itself.

Disney's D23 Expo is currently underway, returning fully-fledged for the first time since before the pandemic. That means that Disney is bringing out the big guns and making a big show, not just for those in attendance, but for those of us at home as well. During the Disney and Pixar presentation, we were treated to the first look at one of the upcoming live-action remakes of an animated classic in the form of "Peter Pan & Wendy."
This, much like the recent "Pinocchio" live-action remake, is looking to update a familiar story for the Disney+ era. David Lowery ("The Green Knight") is in the director's chair for this one, which makes it an instantly intriguing prospect. So, what does a Lowery live-action "Peter Pan" movie look like? /Film's own Ethan Anderton was on hand at the convention to preview the footage.

Aunt Fry starts to question Robin when she realizes her niece is leaving the house in the dead of night, and it makes sense.
Who would go out in the middle of the night?
Aunt Fry is all about honesty, so it's clear this will create a moral conflict for Robin.
It also won't help matters that Delilah also starts to wonder what her mother is getting up to, and given the way Robin hit out at her daughter for lying on The Equalizer...

Exclusive: Adam Goldberg has been tapped as a lead opposite Queen Latifah in The Equalizer reboot, which has a straight-to-series order at CBS to launch this season.
A reimagining of the classic series, The Equalizer stars Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall, an enigmatic woman with a mysterious background who uses her extensive skills to help those with nowhere else to turn.
Goldberg will play Harry Keshegian. He’s not your stereotypical tech dude. Gruffly endearing, lovably annoying, eccentric and a collector of facts and artifacts, he’s paranoid — but for a reason. Unlike conspiracy theorists, because of his experience as a white-hat hacker, he actually knows what the real conspiracies are. He’s as loyal as they come and like a brother to McCall.
The series, which recently started production, also stars Chris Noth, Lorraine Toussaint, Tory Kittles, Liza Lapira and Laya DeLeon Hayes.

“I have always loved Macaulay Culkin’s work. I loved everything that he’s done, I love the stuff he did in ‘Home Alone,’ I also loved the sort of the older, more recent stuff that he did. And he hasn’t worked in a while,” the “Hollywood” creator said in a recent interview with E! News.

I said, ‘Ok, here’s the pitch.’ And I told [him] the character and I told him he has crazy, erotic sex with Kathy Bates and does other things.

A tale of underdogs and their quest to leave a lasting mark on society while representing planet earth to potential extra terrestrial life forms takes the shape of a family film that is just peculiar enough to please adults while catering to kids.
Troop Zero is Amazon Prime's first straight-to-streaming feature length film, though it made its official premiere at Sundance 2019.
And it's not as cheesy as your usual family film fare.
One of the greatest assets Troop Zero has going for it is its subtle edginess, even while narrating a message about self-motivation and celebrating one's uniqueness.
Miss Rayleen -- played charismatically by Viola Davis -- is an anti-hero type who cares not for the company of young children.
Because of her distaste for palling around with kids, the bitter comedy lands with grace and assists in earning empathy as we watch the character's journey change throughout the approximate 90 minute runtime.

Chicago – Comedian Jim Gaffigan is one of the funniest persons on earth, basically by being himself (Score!). In the last five years, he has been immersing himself into the waters of character acting in the movies, doing some serious supporting roles in films like “Chuck” and “Chappaquiddick.”
Lately, he has been on an indie film streak, with lead roles this year in “Light from Light” – which closed this year’s Chicago Critics Festival – and the recently released “Being Frank,” in which he portrays the title character.
Directed by Miranda Bailey, “Being Frank” has Jim G. as a father, which he also famously is in real life, but this Dad has a twist. Somehow, someway Frank has managed to maintain two families, and take them to maturation. This jig is slowly coming apart as the film begins, as Phillip (Logan Miller), the son of the Mom portrayed by Anna Gunn, begins...

Mad About You was one of my very favorite shows when it was on, and especially in the years after, while it was still highly syndicated. I was a pretty young kid when I watched it, but I loved the dynamic between Paul (Paul Reiser) and Jamie (Helen Hunt), and was so in love with the fun couple who lived in New York with their dog, Murray, and watched movies and had a fun and humorous relationship. I have always loved Paul Reiser and Helen Hunt separately throughout their careers, and I felt like this show was just magic. With all that being said, I also have to say I Hated the series finale. It made me so mad and sad that I just ignored the ending in my brain.
Which is why I am so excited that Mad About You is being rebooted! Another series that I loved, but...

Norman Lear is moving one step closer to making his long-gestating comedy “Guess Who Died” a reality.
Emmy-winning writer Peter Tolan (“The Larry Sanders Show,” “Rescue Me”) has joined the project as co-writer with Lear on the show, which is set in a retirement village. Lear has been working on the show for at least seven years, and frequently brings the project up in interviews. But until recently, he expressed dismay that it might never get made.
But now the legendary TV producer, at age 94, is on another hot streak. Following the recent successful remake of Lear’s 1970s sitcom “One Day at a Time,” now reimagined at Netflix with stars Justina Machado and Rita Moreno, Sony Pictures TV is developing “Guess Who Died” as a spec comedy script.
That means it’s still in very early stages of development, but the addition of Tolan gives it more momentum. Tolan...
