One man's step into the unknown
The first thing i noticed was the short running time, less than 1 hour, but i heard so much about this film that i had to see it. We first meet Judd Reid as he is now and the film goes back in time slightly to when he was asked to enter the 100 man kumite, very few people have actually been asked to do this as you have to fight closely for 3 hours non stop, not everyone is able to do this.
Judd enters this and does what few men have done before him. As i watched the film,, the main things that stood out were how easy going Judd (for a big and dangerous guy) is and a natural in front of the camera. The team that are filming him are fun to be around.
When the kumite comes, we see not all of the fights otherwise the film would be on for a long time but the snip bits we get the fights are hard and brief.
After the fight we see Judd pressing into his bruised leg and the indentations staying there.
I came away from this film noticing that it was as much as a physical fight for Judd as well as a spiritual one.
If you real life documentary's then you should love this, one of the best i have seen.
