They always talk about how harmful is nuclear technology. But they will never tell you that it's the cleanest fuel, it's easy to dump nuclear waste and a nuclear reactor is different from nuclear weapons.

Coming to the film, nothing is impressive. Animations is okay, we have seen it in the past. Cinematography is not worthy of a mention. The little plotline doesn't impress much.

6.0? Well, such low score for this impressive CGI animation is simply unfair in my opinion, specially considering that bland and unremarkable stuff like "Kiwi!" (A much less interesting and creative short than this one) has 8.3 here on IMDb.

I have read some criticism concerning the humanoid appearance of the main character, but aliens are portrayed in the same way in many other fictional works which aren't criticized for that (Remember Star Trek? E.T.? Star Wars? Avatar? Guardians of the Galaxy? Why those works get a free pass to portray aliens with humanoid feature while this short receives too much negativity for the same reason?)

Others comment about how the alien was "dumb" for not being able to distinguish an actual human being from a mannequin, but this is how I personally see it: The alien realized that there were no humans left on earth after the nuclear conflict referenced at the end of the short, so the only thing he could do was to get at least something vaguely resembling a human being as the only proof our species ever existed.

That is why the short is called "Legacy". It is actually something pretty obvious but some people from Youtube doesn't seem to get that.

Visually speaking, this short is magnificent. The use of CGI here is simple astounding, easily surpassing many blockbuster films from the recent years. The haunting atmosphere fits perfectly well with the somber tone of the plot, which it might be a bit simple, but no less valid and meaningful, serving as a brilliant allegory of how war could end in our destruction (And tragically, the destruction of other lifeforms on earth as well)

8.5/10
