Controversial and catchy

Warning: Spoilers
This is the music video for Madonna's "Like a Prayer", a very successful song from over 25 years ago. I have to say I enjoyed the watch. It is definitely a very catchy tune and the melody stays in the head. Now, about the video, Madonna was always known for being provocative, so it shouldn't come as a big surprise that she is making love to a Black Jesus in here, wears clothes for the entire film that show more than they reveal. At least, the message in the end is a good one when she goes to the police station to help the Black guy out despite being threatened by the racists in a previous scene. All in all, a good watch and in my opinion Madonna, who was 30 when this was made, looks better than ever here. I always thought she was the hottest as a brunette. Little side-note you may know the male lead actor from "Cool Runnings". in this music video here, he does a solid job too. Really good overall result. Recommended.

Blunt, outspoken, provocative controversial music video!

In 1989 pop queen Madonna had a huge super hit with this single "Like a Prayer" as the words were moving, yet the music video was eye popping causing a stir that "MTV" would only air at later times! It's themes of religion and race shook many as it shows a black man as a suspect in front of a church, as a murder committed was put on him! And Madonna pushed the limits with the gospel showing wounds and blood on her hands like that of the crucifixion! Need I say more as the material girl really pushed the limits and boundaries of expression.

If it's not controversial, then it's not Madonna

I always heard that this music video was controversial and I can see why, for the early 80s. But I love Madonna for it, the subject is impactful, fits the song, and still holds true to this day.

Beautiful

After three decades, the music, the video are only significant. Both - more seductive for the clear noble message, for the gospel choir, for the sensuality perceived as symbols chain. Provocative ? Off course, it is a Madonna song ! But important is the precise way to define the violence and racism and to remind the love as basic trait of Christianity. So, beautiful.
