A must see for those who need to know
rhodescarson5 December 2015
This is a movie that indeed pulls back the covers on the shenanigans of wealth and power debasing everyday American school systems today. This documentary is "Of the People, For the People and By the People." ...a hidden gem that all should see for themselves... Our country's future, our planet's future is in danger due to the actions of the .1%ers. Documentaries, like these-that threaten their status quo-should be mandatory viewing in all schools.

If you're a teacher or a student, it is vital that you see this documentary... This site requires that a reviewer leave ten lines of text per review, but quality documentaries like this don't need 10 lines of text. I would have left it at the first two sentences, but that's just not allowed (odd).

Either way- go see it. You're welcome :-)

Must See Movie on Who is Attacking Public Education and How They Do It
Jacquilini20 May 2016
This is a close to home for me as I live one county away from Douglas County which along with Jefferson County has been the target of educational "reformers." I see the same phenomenon in my own school district and am disheartened and angry. See this movie to understand what is going on. Get involved. Don't let these people ruin good school districts in the name of reform in order to get their hands on public education money.

I felt this movie was so important I bought a DVD and hosted a showing in my neighborhood. This movie does a good job in painting the specifics as well as drawing in the big picture. While I don't agree with everything in this movie I think it is important and eye opening--whether you have kids in school or not. Make sure to google and find out what happened in the latest election--some positive news but the fight continues.

Reform WORKS. This film is a Teachers Union advertisement against basic merit based assessments
random-707782 October 2019
The data -- and peer reviewed studies -- clearly and overwhelmingly show that reform works. Be it merit based assessment of teachers, or the massive improvement driven by charter schools -- it works.

Teachers union particularity hate the fact that charters give poor and disadvantageous kids much better outcomes, increased scoring, increased entry into college, increased success in college. In fact long term longitudinal studies show charter school grads in otherwise same racial, income, family structure cohorts have half the incarceration rate after graduating!
