Made no real sense at all
MoviesRT26 May 2019
Warning: Spoilers
I love the unusual films, but this one is so slow and when you finally figure out what's going on it makes little sense.

First of all, if this woman wants to keep her girls so pure, why invite this boy to stay anyway? (apparently reading the Bible all day makes these girls so horny they jump the guy the first chance they get. LOL)

If you ever wonder why Christians are being slaughtered all over the world, look at how they are portrayed in movies. They read the Bible and commit horrible crimes. Makes no sense at all.

The ending made even less sense. I waited (as I always do) to see if there is any logic there, but sadly there was none.

Could have been a good movie if they had left out the holy stuff and made the characters more realistic.

It's well filmed and directed but it's boring. Give it a chance if you fancy but my eyes are heavy.

Snake in the grass

Warning: Spoilers
He was the cause of everything! And the thing that bothers me the most is that he isn't held accountable for anything.

This dumb pale looking twig boy gets invited to his aunt's house for a little vacation. Unknown to him she has two sisters there along with her own daughter for schooling. I knew immediately his hormonal ass was gonna corrupt one. I didn't expect him to corrupt both. While he didn't have sex with the one sister, he did the other. Quite a few times. No condoms. And he has the audacity to be high and mighty with his aunt for her being so strict? Gtfoh.

It was even more apparent after the first meeting that his cousin ALice was playing him. But he was a fool and wanted to play Captain save a ho and set her free. I wanted so badly for her to kill all of them, but alas she only got in one kill. The end is so bizarre that you completely dismiss it. Mother cuts off Alice's head but she's in the window in the last shot. What?

Movie is very slow. The guy is annoying to just look at, and the girls look underage so the brief nudity you see makes it uncomfortable.

It was alright I guess

Warning: Spoilers
I think the movie was ok but I feel like the end could have been much better. I mean the mother was definitely not at all normal but did she really have to take her own life after supposedly putting an end to her evil daughter Alice. I say supposedly putting an end to Alice, because after the only two remaining living characters in the story drive off in Diane's pickup truck, the camera pans to the house and we see Alice looking out the attic window. The end left me guessing and unsure if that was Alice back to life, like a sentinel looking out the attic window or if it was depicting a kind of hazy shot of Alice earlier in the movie. It may have been intended to leave the viewer guessing, but I'm not really sure.

Great Acting for an Indie Horror Flick
twelve-house-books14 September 2019
Warning: Spoilers
This film has some new stuff not found in most other Horror films. Sure, the weird aunt is a common trope, but two ex-party girls who have supposedly turned their lives over to Christ and now spend much of every day praying over the insane girl jailed in the attic of a Colonial stone farmhouse? I've never seen this before. The young cousin visiting his aunt is anti-religious, as is the girl in the attic. His tune likely changes after he witnesses his aunt saw her daughter's head off (the girl Alice in the attic) with a serrated carving knife and then have tea and cookies with it just before cutting her own carotid artery with the same blood-and-hair covered knife. The acting is nothing short of superb, folks. The plot, though, was undeveloped and relied too heavily on quickly mentioned events of a decade before.

Interesting film, not quite what I expected
johnhsmith-000566 April 2019
The set up for this film seems too typical for a horror/thriller, but quickly the characters diverge in ways you don't expect, and have you guessing who is really evil here? Who is good? What are their real motives here?

The ending was rather shocking, which is fine, but it could have been explained a little better.

interesting

Well-made , minimalist film. The actors did a good job and there were some very creepy scenes. Some people may find it slow and boring, but I found it pretty interesting. Didn't expect the violence but it definitely did add to the story.

Not that bad

I can understand why the negative reviewers would say it's slow/boring but I thought it was interesting and it kept me in gaged. I gave it a 10 to help with the rating, I'd say it's a good 7 stars
