It's not all glamor and world travel.
"Fly with Me" is an episode of "American Experience" which focuses on the history of flight attendants...and in particular the fights they've had to wage with the airlines over the years. This is because the various airlines came up with a long list of rules for these people...often unfair and illegal rules. One rule meant these women were fired when they reached 32 or 35 (depending on the airline)! Why? Because apparently the airlines didn't think women should be career women...they should be home instead makin' babies and cooking dinner! Another was an unwritten rule...no black flight attendants! What other unfair and illegal rules did they have? Watch this fascinating installment of "American Experience" and find out for yourself.
As you'd expect, this is fascinating, never dull, and is well worth seeing. I say 'as you'd expect' because the series is rarely boring and is highly educational. Well worth your time and a real eye-opener.
