useful exercise

in same measure, it is easy to criticize or admire. because it gives a different image about a community.romantic, sentimental, courageous, strange, touching , with large pieces of myth, not always coherent but interesting in each moment, remembering the Medieval search of Saint Graal, it is a beautiful film and an useful manifesto from its director. it has the gift to impress , to remember old story and old traditions, to present a portrait, to be naive and youth, delicate, nice and convincing in not ordinary manner. in fact, it is a love message, for his community, for its profound conscience. a far to be perfect exercise . and an useful exercise for public to discover the aura of Aromanians.

It could have been worse

... though, but not by much.

Aromanians, are the Latins/Greek of the Balkan peninsula, that have not been captured within Romania, Greece or Italy, and themselves are representative for the Byzantine empire, that has not changed to Greek, nor have wanted to become Westerners, by importing more mainstream Western Latin such as French and Italian in Romania. As minority across many geographies, it is tight knitted group. So all in all, their story could have been a great trip both in culture and experience, which it tried, but in a too much theatrical way, in a truly Balkan manner.

But the movie is almost pure junk, the acting is C-quality, although some actors have some movie experience, the story is really a fourth-grader, the soundtrack is hurting even for C-class Bollywood movies, the scenes are filmed by wedding videomans (and not the good ones), the dialogues seem to have come to mind after the start of the scene filming.

I'm sure many have seen already some masterpieces of Romanian film making, but this is not one.

So except for getting exposure to a Byzantine culture or for being one of the community, there is no real reason to see this.

I was expecting more, a lot more.

aromanian culture nicely presented

Warning: Spoilers
This movie may need some kind of emotional environment in order to captivate you but once it does, you can't stop loving it.

The culture is impressive, the ambition of aromanians to have their first movie in their own language, the story behind the movie is good and with the low budget they had I see it as a huge realization and a movie worth watching.

For those who went to meet with the actors and had the change to chat with them the experience as a whole was very invaluable.

I rate this video 10 out of 10 from the point of view that at list once everyone should give it a try and see it.

One of a Kind! A must see by all!

I had the absolute pleasure of attending the premiere of I'm not famous but I'm Aromanian last night! Toma Enache you did a amazing job on the film!

As my family immigrated into the US in 1987, the film taught me to always remember where you come from and appreciate your family and the culture they have instilled in us.

Thank you Toma Enache for reminding me of the amazing culture I grew up with. From this day forward, on June 5th in NYC we will celebrate "Vlach Cultural Preservation Day" and remember all the amazing things which make us "AROMANIAN".

One of a kind, I just loved it

We finally have something to be proud of. Toma did it again. You make us proud and we love your work. I cant wait to see the cast in person. Great job.

The movie will be watched over and over by our Armanami and we alway be talking about our first movie about our culture and our pioneer Toma Enache.

The story line is captivating, the case is phenomenal and we have to remember they did amazing with such low budget to work with.

I urge you to go see it, it might not be Top Gun or Gone with the wind, but it will move you. Give it a try and see for yourself.

Nu hiu faimos ama hiu Arman, that is the story of our people, we are all over the world and we are proud to see a movie about us, about the truth behind our nationality.

I will give it a 10+ for initiative, 10 for the script and 10 for customs.

a film real special. for story itself, exotic, dramatic, naive, not always coherent. but useful. for its fragility because it is easy to criticize it. for the shadows of the past. and, sure, for the admirable courage and passion of Toma Enache. it is the first artistic film in the Aromanian dialect. and the good things and bad things are, not surprising, together. it is an eulogy to the origins. slices of myths, trips who reminds the voyage of Odisseas to the home, faces, voices, words, people, and Armanca. a film like a party. or like an old song. about values, traditions and the need to save the past. this is "I am not famous but I am Aromanian" . a naive, fascinating film. about the conquest of a form of childhood. with its light and sounds and feelings. for be yourself.
