Final WWE PPV appearance for The Ultimate Warrior, who died of a heart attack two days later, while returning home from the event.
According to Hulk Hogan, he was ordered by WWE executives to stay away from Jim Hellwig 'The Ultimate Warrior' due to the real-life tension between them. But when he ran into Hellwig backstage, he went up to him and apologized. Hellwig died two days later.
The three ladies that surround Triple H, during his entrance, later became future WWE Womens Champions. Their names were Ashley Fliehr aka Charlotte Flair (daughter of WWE Hall of Famer Ric Flair), Mercedes Kaestner-Varnado aka Sasha Banks and Alexis Kaufman aka Alexa Bliss.
Hulk Hogan, while doing his introduction to the event, initially accidentally called the venue the "Silverdome", which was a running gag for a week or two afterwards, and spilled over to an episode of The Soup. According to Hogan, he was reminiscing backstage with some people over his victory over Andre the Giant at WrestleMania III, which took place at the Silverdome, and he was so pumped thinking about when he made his way out to the ring he made the gaffe and admitted to it as well.
According to Hulk Hogan, he really did not know that Steve Austin and Dwayne Johnson were coming out for the opening segment. He met with them backstage but was under the impression that they were coming out later in the show. But backstage footage aired on WWE 24 (2015) showed the three men planning their entrances before the show.
