Tense, compassionate road movie
judycroome13 March 2014
A well-paced movie that digs beneath the surface of a brutal dope-dealer and his lover to show the dynamics of a passionate relationship between two equally lost souls.

Written and directed by cult director Andrew Worsdale, who clearly hasn't lost his touch, the movie was fast paced, tense and exquisitely poised between revulsion and compassion.

Outstanding and powerful performance by Brandon Auret as Pieter, and a strong debut performance as Joline by Cara Roberts, with the usual excellent performances from South African veterans Danny Keogh, Frank Opperman, Gys de Villers and Marcel van Heerden.

Original music score by Durban-born musician Jim Neversink was stirring and added depth.

Fantastic to see a non-political movie about South Africa that captures the essence of poor white life with both empathy and realism.
