Okay idea, extremely weak execution

Okay this is "Baby Nut", an animated short film from 2003, and it was written and directed by PES, an oscar nominee now and if you have seen some of his more recent stuff and compare it to this one we got here, then the difference in quality is gigantic. So yeah, this is from early, but not very early in his career. It runs for under 20 seconds and one third of it or so is still credits early on and later on. The idea here is to depict a peanut that looks because of the opening like a baby lying in a crib really and we hear relatively soft baby sounds from beginning to end to make the parallel. The idea is okay for such a short film i think, but yeah the outcome is not good. The movements and cuts are underwhelming to say the least and the loud sound effect at the very end is fairly annoying. Did the nut get cracked? Or was it just random? I honestly don't know and I don't really care either. Probably a contender for PES' weakest and unless you are a completionist, my suggestion is to skip the watch here. Some (better) closing gag could have made me give 2 out out of 5 here, but it just wasn't good at all and I am glad it was over this quickly. Watch something else instead, it's a waste of time, even at this minimal running time.
