It is a must see based on the trailer
angiequidim11 November 2014
I was only able to view the trailer but from what I saw it is a heartfelt story that I wanted to learn more about. It is a clever way as it looks like the film was shot documentary style to give more of a feeling of realism and relate-ability to the family who's life was certainly centered around their abducted daughter and when the possibility of not having her around set in, the empty nest syndrome drives the couple apart. I love how resourceful the production was with a low budget and how they made the film work.

I can not wait to see the full feature when it is released publicly. Even though the actors are not well known they have done a great job in the trailer.

Powerful Family Drama
mscynthiacampbell7 November 2014
Vanished is the new film from Dreams Come True Productions, and it is a superb effort from this film group. Vanished tells the powerful and gripping tale of an abduction. It is based on the book of the same title written by Candy J Beard.

Carla and Chris Bennett had the perfect life until the day their seven year old daughter, Kimberly, was abducted in broad daylight, without a trace! All attempts to find her come up empty, leaving the community baffled. Who took young Kimberly and why? Days turn into weeks and weeks into months. Tensions begin to arise between the once happy couple as Chris blames Carla for Kimberly's abduction.

Soon, an old classmate of Carla's will make himself a permanent fixture in her life. Suspense ensues as the viewer wonders is he there to help her pick up the pieces of her shattered life, or does he have plans of his own?

And will Kimberly ever make it home again?

Vanished holds your attention and have a nice pace. It is also nice to see the talented Richard Bryant (from Lifetime's Army Wives) playing the lead. Hopefully we will see more of him in the future.

Thanks to Dreams Come True for a powerful family film that makes us all think and be fortunate for those in our lives.

Vanished - every parent's nightmare
BrendaJoReutebuch2 June 2018
Warning: Spoilers
I had seen this film a couple of years ago at a premiere event, and I can't stop thinking about it. The story was written very well. And I was amazed at the quality of the sound & camera work, because I know that this wasn't done by one of those "big" companies. But whoever these folks are, they know their stuff. Most of the actors were very believable in their roles. I may not have liked every aspect of the story, like when the mom started a relationship that she knew in her heart was wrong, but I know that this kind of stuff happens in today's world of circumstantial ethics. When we are hurting, we can convince ourselves of almost anything. That's another way in which this film is believable. I just can't imagine how I would react if this happened to my family. This is a must watch film for any parent today.

Save your money
michaelssam932 October 2014
Warning: Spoilers
I had the misfortune of watching this movie at the production company's premiere. I should have saved the money that I paid for my ticket (I'm glad I did not pick up one of the DVDs that were floating around). I'm just someone from the general public who bought a ticket, so I am not connected to anyone who produced this movie.

In case you're wondering what the spoiler is, it is the entire film. The story was poorly written and thin, and it sounded utterly dreadful. Aside from Richard Bryant, who I thought was a good actor, the acting overall was forced and did not seem natural. The production did not use an experienced casting director, and they really should have. This film is exactly why you should not cast your Facebook friends. In short, the acting was amateur and very overdone - much like putting a turkey in the oven and letting it cook for 24 hours. The sound was not edited well, and the camera work was sloppy, flat, and too static - nothing dynamic at all. Have you ever taken a poorly written film and turned off the sound to let the camera footage tell the story? You can't do that with this one.

Save your money and your time. If this is the best that Indiana made films have to offer, I'll stick with the stuff that comes out of the mainstream movie houses.
