To all - a good movie!
jlbsword8 December 2023
This was a lovely movie with many touching scenes and a sweet story of two people, both grieving, but finding each other. I appreciated the portrayal of grief done is a way that we can all relate to, especially at Christmas when we feel it more deeply. I love Kimberly and would watch any movie she is in. I particularly enjoyed her movies with Paul Campbell. I have not seen Mark in much but he was very good in this role. The beautiful scenery in and around Oak Bay (part of Victoria) adds to the story. I I chuckled at "Sally's" as I have been to that cafe. I don't remember the Christmas burgers but it does have great food and beautiful views. The ending had me in tears, as we see these two people find their way back to love and each other. Very well done. Definitely worth a watch.

There was much to love in this Christmas story that had that little bit of melancholy, a lot of dad jokes, a thieving dog, scenic backdrop and two hearts that find Christmas.

This Hallmark holiday film was a little different than the usual formula. It had an unconventional male lead, who was mysterious, supportive, funny and giving. It had an adorable dog who was the thief of Harmony Bay, which worked into an ongoing gag. It had a female lead who was grieving the loss of her father, but open to healing and help.

It still had the loving, small town community and it had a gorgeous backdrop that looked exactly like my backyard growing up (it came as no surprise that it was film on Victoria Island...which you literally can look across the Salish Sea and see from my Fidalgo Island backyard).

Great supporting cast and a demonic bongo Santa. The dialog was wonderfully written...jokes, romantic stories, military support, and the concept of sharing something beautiful with the community that you love.

Ceci and Sam are a match made in heaven. Their meeting over a motorcycle accident and her first aid and conversation...and his proposal were great.

This is one for the romantics. The story was funny and romantic. I highly recommend it to romantics like me. Kimberley Sustad (Ceci) and newcomer Mark Ghanimé (Sam) had wonderful chemistry. I liked the multiple stories within this storyline and I really appreciated that they didn't make Vivian a villain.

Bongo Santa for the win
barefoot_in_the_park12 December 2023
Warning: Spoilers
Probably half of the Hallmark movies I've started watching this year, I didn't end up finishing. This is by far the best one I've seen this year. Kimberley Sustad is probably my favorite Hallmark female lead, and I didn't know Mark Ghanime, but he was great, and they were very good together.

I loved the humor in this one! The creepy Santa was such a nice touch, and all the funny lines about him. The thief dog was very cute, though started a little silly with the woman saying she had seen him in her shed but didn't know what to do. . .uhm, call his owner? Another minor complaint is the stepmother. She was so cold, almost "wicked" stepmother vibe for most of the movie, but then there is a 180 done with her character.

My big complaint about the movie is the moment when the confrontation happens with the letter. I felt Ceci's reaction was really over the top. I would understand her needing some time to process and such, but the way she treats Sam and tells him to go away, felt out of place in the movie. Besides she was incredibly deceptive with him originally. I dislike when Hallmark has those type of moments just to create a conflict in an otherwise good story. Those moments are not always necessary, especially in this movie where the reveal of the letter was enough of a moment on its own.

Overall, there was so much good in this one, and it heavily outweighs my minor complaints, and even my main one. I would rewatch this one again!

Reminds me of long ago Hallmark movies
stampmyart8 December 2023
This has to be one of the best Hallmark movies they have presented in a long time.

The story line is original and fun with moments that touch the heart in the ways that Hallmark did long ago.

Sadly, over the years it seems like Hallmark has tried to put out too many movies during the holidays and they've become to formulaic and boring. Despite this year being another year of too many movies, this one actually has a beautiful story. The connections within the community and how one individual could touch so many lives even after he is gone is beautifully done.

This story also has some great actors. The actors and actresses did a fantastic job. The characters are easy to connect with as well as the fun fur friend keeping them on their toes. I also loved the inclusion of the deaf husband and minor bit of ASL, wish there had been a touch more of that, but it's still progress.

Well done!

The best Hallmark movie ever
csmorrisiii8 December 2023
I have seen a ton of Hallmark movies. To me this is one of the if not the best ever. The writing is brilliant, on spot, funny and emotional. So is the acting. Excellent. It's upbeat with positivity. Cinematography is also fantastic. No plot spoilers here. It's somewhat different from the standard Hallmark predictable formula. If you want an enjoyable good time with a movie I totally recommend this one. Even the dog is great. So are the lead stars as well as the rest of the cast. This movie has a refreshingly different feel to it. It's well produced, directed, acted, and photographed. Hope you enjoy it as mych as I did.

A great Night
vjf369 December 2023
Kimberly and her partner are very good together Though I never understand why most hallmark male actors never shave. He's a good actor but please take a shave. The story is original and the scenery was beautiful Here again Hallmark spared no expense with the location and the supporting cast. I felt this was a real town and community The people seemed so real and oh the dog was a great addition. Here again a good old fasho mystery with a rom com to boot. The ending was def a surprise and plausible I liked the way it all came together Would like to see more of these mysteries and a simple plot. I do not like the mysteries that have so many twists and turns that never makes sense All in all a good job.

Perfect in Every Way
montgomerysue11 December 2023
This Hallmark Christmas movie has it all : spirit, romance, sentimentality, humor, and intrigue. And it all unfolds in a wonderful way thanks to the director Andy Mikata, the writer Betsy Morris, and a truly fine cast of actors. Kimberley Sustad and Mark Ghanime are terrific here as two people who, through fate, are thrown together as a result of a motorcycle accident. From there, their relationship grows by ways that are remarkable, but still believable. The production values are high, the locales are beautifully captured by the cinematographer, and the entire supporting cast is top notch, giving performances that equal the professionalism and naturalness of Sustad and Ghanime. It is really swell to see Sustad reunited with the delightful Alison Araya (as Abigail), who played Lucy in "Nine Lives of Christmas".

Sustad's character is put through the emotional ringer in the last half hour of this movie, but Sustad nails it, cementing her reputation as one of the consistently best actresses in Hallmark productions.

This is a wonderful, satisfying Christmas film in all respects.

Followed closely by "A Biltmore Christmas", it is the best of Hallmark's new features. Not to be missed whether you are a Hallmark fan or not.

It's all the little things
Jackbv1239 December 2023
I love the HMM Miracles of Christmas movies that tug on your heartstrings. This did that, but not as much as some. If doing that was the only good thing about this movie it would be good but not great.

What made this movie was all the little things, especially the little gags and jokes. By the way, I'm a dad and I love dad jokes. Mine are so bad I started calling them granddad jokes. There are a few dad jokes at the end which aren't as bad as they could be. But so many other things. The dog thief was great. Restoring the stolen items was often great. The funny things were not earth shattering funny, but they were good and all through the movie. So often the funny stuff will be only at the beginning, or the beginning and end.

There is a romance too. Unlike a lot of the movies that pull the heartstrings over one theme, the romance wasn't shortchanged in this one. But the sentimental story was still there.

Kimberley Sustad! What can I say? I think I thought the same thing with her Christmas movie last year. She has good comedic timing. She had great chemistry with Mark Ghanimé. Other actors were good too although Karen Kruper's Vivian was just a little bit too harsh in the beginning.

There were little mysteries stretched throughout the movie and some surprises. Not big ones, but just enough. I did know what Vivian was going to say before she said it, but then I think the way she worked up to it was my clue.

I'm not sure the last scene didn't steal from the super impressive shot just before it. Wow! Gorgeous! Wish I'd watched it in HD.

Beautiful Movie But...
shehorst17 December 2023
My husband and I loved the movie except for the 20 minutes left plot twist. With all Hallmark movies they do this little scenario of drama. This one made no sense of why Ceci would tell Sam after he reviled his trajic past. Other than that, the movie was great and well acted as usual by Kimberley Sustad, who is one of our favorites, and Mark Ghanimé. To All AGood Night is one of the better 2023 Christmas movies with great writing, beautiful scenery, and great character actors. The pup in the story was so darn cute, he literally stole the show with his antics! This definitely will be on my Christmas watch list for next year.

Sequel please!
sandrinha-8491019 December 2023
Loved this movie. Definitely one of this season's best! I really enjoyed the storyline and the suspense and humour was really well delivered by both actors. It was really amazing to see that as the relationship progressed the chemistry between the two actors was bouncing off the screen. As the last scene came along I truly felt that there was definitely more to see. You truly fall in love with this couple and are rooting for them to be together from the beginning to the end of the movie. One of those movies that you want to watch again and really hoping for a second part. It's a winner! A must see this season, don't miss it!

More like this one...Please!!
mysay-97-58108624 December 2023
Yes! These are the real Hallmark Christmas movies I want to watch. It was top notch story and the actors, well, were fabulous. I have always enjoyed Kimberly Sustad and even though I wasn't familiar with the actor playing Sam, he did a great job. The chemistry was there. I enjoyed all the side stories. The dog was adorable. It had a little bit of everything, mystery, suspense, snarky, humor, and of course love. Please, Please and more Please, make these movies. I would rather have quality than quantity. It probably deserves a 10 but I don't give them out because I think every movie can improve on something. Well done Hallmark and Merry Christmas!!!

Drama gold
MickyG33331 December 2023
8.2 stars.

Sustad is the source of this drama gold if you ask me. Just about every movie I've seen her in is a winner. I don't know if that's dumb luck, or she has some special connections with one of the big wigs, or she's just that good. I am always ready for a fun time with her characters. Although most of her personalities are similar, they have some minor nuances that she likes to surprise us with now and then. Her character in this film is a very down-to-earth woman who misses her dad something awful, he died recently. Her stepmother is the only person she has left, and their relationship was never a close one.

She has a bestie who helps her through the trials, but the people she meets, a man and his cousin, these become new and wonderful friends. The whole town supports her, they keep her little secret because of a mystery behind a man on a motorcycle. He crashes into some trees, gets injured and she rescues him, but why is he there, what does he want? She hides her identity from him in order to maintain a low key surveillance operation. All these factors come together to make this a very rich story, full of entertainment and very interesting personalities. What an amazing movie.

Best Hallmark in a long time
brighterdawn8419 December 2023
I love love this movie. Kimberley Sustad and Mark Ghanime have such a chemistry together. It's magic on the screen. This movie makes you laugh and cry. And yes it tugs at your heartstrings. I can't get passed several moments without the tears rolling down my face no matter how many times I watch this and I am not embarrassed to say I at least watch it once a day. Hallmark needs to make this a Hallmark Hall of Fame. It has it all. Great actors, even Max the thieving dog brings laughs but you will love him too. Friendships that many of us long for, It has love, laughter, and shows that grief and your heart can be overcome and eventually healed. Take the time . Hallmark has put out it's best movies in 2023 and this is by far number one for the year. Worth the watch!!!
