Such a bad and boring movie
lmnclips216 October 2023
Warning: Spoilers
I tried my very best to pay attention to this movie, but it really wasn't that interesting. About 30 minutes in I just tuned out and used the movie as background noise while I scrolled through my social media.

And the story wasn't strong enough to really grab my attention. Why even bother making forgery paintings for revenge? And why did Derrick even target Natalie, and her father? As if his dad's car accident was their fault somehow? Also we never found out the identity of the driver who accidentally ran Derrick's dad over.

The audience was led to believe that the forger was Alex, even though he had no real motive other than the fact that Natalie changed her last name to hide who she really was. Was he really that upset over that?

In actuality it was Derrick the whole time. But I suspected him from the very beginning especially since the 'Shocktober' promo literally highlighted his reveal (All the more reason why I believe that Lifetime doesn't respect their viewers anymore). Even without those small spoilers, I would've still known it was him. So tired of films like this where they try too hard to hide the bad guy's identity but it's so painfully obvious who it is.

And can we talk about the lead's acting for a moment? It was horrendous. She showed no emotion during her father's funeral. And her facial expression while she was watching the security footage of her dad literally DYING, was unbelievable, and laughable! It looked like she was half asleep.

After that she kept on screaming and yelling non stop until she knocked Derrick out with the baseball bat. It was so ridiculous! And I don't know where all these positive reviews came from. But they're obviously the cast and crew members and/or people related to the lead. Because they're really praising her acting skills. Either they were paid by the lead to write positive reviews for her movie, or they genuinely liked the movie and wouldn't know what actual great acting was if it hit them in the face. I'd say it's the former.

The only decent thing about the entire movie, was the brief appearance of Dominique Swain. Hopefully she'll be in another Lifetime film where she's playing a bigger role.

After watching this mess of a movie, I would definitely advise you to skip this. They are far better ways to waste your time. This movie could've gone in so many different directions that would have bettered the plot, but no. Yet another Lifetime film with an original idea wasted on a poor execution. Sigh*

Were Cast Members Writing The Other Reviews ?
nelch31 January 2024
Warning: Spoilers
Chelsea Vale is such an awful actress. She is so wooden that her performance left me with splinters.

Absolutely zero chemistry between any of the cast.

No emotion and a terrible script.

After the death of her estranged father, the lead character is heartbroken. So heartbroken that she plasters on the make-up. Not one scene of her looking "heartbroken". She speaks her lines as if on fast forward too.

We are meant to believe that all of these art professionals do not notice that many of the paintings hung on display have no signatures, so are obviously forgeries.

Never have I cared less about the characters in a movie. The acting, throughout, is extremely bad. The script seems as if it is read from autocue.

Our main character slips an invitation, to display at a gallery, into a friend's folder / notebook. Another character points out that the invitation had been slipped into a backpack. The continuity sucks throughout the movie.

I always watch a whole movie. It is not fair to write a review based on just 10 minutes of viewing. This did not even deserve one star. No idea why there are such high ratings for this total rubbish.

Stay away from this stinker at all cost!!
psxexperten14 October 2023
1 star is generous, this was painfully bad. The "plot" is extremely hard to follow and does not really make much sense whatsoever.

WORDS cannot express to you how outrageously terrible this film is.

I would not ever recommend anyone watch this pointless nothing film.

I do find it hard to believe that this was enjoyed by people because it is one of the worst things I have ever watched.

Overall the acting contributes to the failure & it makes it difficult to watch past 20 minutes as the acting/performances are utterly embarrassingly terrible. I'm sat here in utter disgust with the entirety of the film.

I think the best part of the movie were the last five minutes and I was so excited when the credits finally scrolled.

Worth a watch

It's a lifetime movie but this is different. It's an emotionally charged thriller that delivers suspense, stellar acting, and a rollercoaster of emotions. The lead actress shines in her portrayal, making her character relatable. The film's pacing, cinematography, and music enhance the suspense. If you're seeking a riveting Lifetime movie, this one stands out, providing a satisfying and thought-provoking experience. Give this film a chance! While it might not have a massive budget of Hollywood blockbusters, it has heart, a unique story, and talented actors who pour their passion into their roles. Sometimes, hidden gems lie in unexpected places, and this film might just surprise you with its charm, wit, or emotional depth.

Not bad
marktowne8214 October 2023
So yes it does have it's fair share of plot holes, but it undeniably kept me on the edge of my seat throughout its runtime. From the very beginning, it grabbed my attention with its pulse-pounding suspense and a cast of characters that were both enigmatic and compelling. While some of the narrative twists felt a bit far-fetched and left unanswered questions, the sheer intensity of the action and the superb performances by the lead actors made it an engaging ride. I found myself eagerly trying to piece together the puzzle, even if it meant overlooking a few gaps in the storyline.

In the end, while I may have wished for a tighter plot, I couldn't deny that the film had delivered a thrilling and entertaining experience that left me with a sense of satisfaction, if not complete closure.

In the heart-pounding thriller, Jonathan Lipnicki emerges as a remarkable talent on the rise. Their performance in the film was nothing short of exceptional, leaving an indelible mark on the audience. From the very first frame, he commanded the screen with a magnetic presence that showcased their potential as a rising star in the industry.

What truly stood out was Jonathan Lipnicki's ability to convey a wide spectrum of emotions with remarkable authenticity and precision. One of the best lifetime movies
enigmafiend118 October 2023
I normally never watch LMN because I don't have cable. But when I heard this was available on YouTube, I gave it a watch and I have to say, I am not surprised on how good this was knowing how the plot and story was just so unique that it needed to be made into a movie. I like how the story reflects on art because me personally, I think artists don't get the credit they deserve so this movie really had heart to it. The acting was very believable and authentic to real life. The paintings were very good on camera and the story was just very unique and intense. I think the director is changing the game with LMN pictures and the producers seem to have had history in creating films for Lifetime and I have to say truthfully, I think they are on a next level with film and television.

Could be better but still good
realskidrow16 October 2023
Director Glenn Ciano's expertise shines in creating an atmosphere of relentless tension, with impeccable cinematography and sound design. However, where the film falls short is in its storyline, which lacks depth and originality. The characters are one-dimensional, and the plot feels like a collection of clichés, relying on convenient plot devices and unlikely coincidences. While it entertains with its action, "Midnight Pursuit" fails to provide a compelling narrative, leaving the audience craving a more engaging and well-crafted story.

Despite its narrative shortcomings, "Midnight Pursuit" is worth a watch for its adrenaline-inducing action sequences and exceptional technical aspects. The film's gripping visuals and intense soundtrack elevate the suspense, making it an enjoyable experience for those seeking an action-packed thriller, even if it doesn't leave a lasting impact in terms of its storyline.

Give it a go
james00harper8817 October 2023
Jonathan Lipnicki delivers a thrilling and unforgettable performance in Secrets at the Museum, showcasing his remarkable evolution as an actor. Known for his earlier roles in family films, Lipnicki's portrayal in this intense thriller is a striking departure from his previous work. He not only holds his own in the genre but also elevates the entire movie with his gripping presence.

While the plot may be predictable at times, the film compensates with nail-biting tension and unexpected twists that keep you engaged. If you're in the mood for a mindless but entertaining thriller that will keep you on the edge of your seat, Secrets at the Museum is the perfect popcorn flick for a thrilling night in.

Chelsea Vale saves the day
kevintracey4216 October 2023
Chelsea Vale single-handedly saved it from being a potentially dull experience. Her presence on screen injected a much-needed dose of energy and charisma that elevated the entire movie. Vale's ability to convey a wide range of emotions and capture the audience's attention was truly remarkable. Her character felt three-dimensional and relatable, and you couldn't help but root for her throughout the film.

In all yes it has it's moments and for some no, unfortunately It might not keep you on the edge of your seat throughout, but it offers enough intrigue and solid performances to make it worth a viewing.

I'm Impressed
mitchtheglitch14 October 2023
Secrets at the Museum is one of those movies that grabs your attention right from the start and doesn't let go. It's packed with surprises, making you constantly question what's real and what's next. The story is smart, the acting top-notch, and the scenes are set up in a way that you're always guessing. The music adds another layer, making some moments feel super intense. What's great is how everything ties up neatly at the end, even though the journey there is full of unexpected moments. If you're in the mood for a thrilling ride and love movies that make you think, this is a must-watch. Big recommendation.

multi-layered storyline with unique themes
mikemessiermoviemaker21 October 2023
I saw this on the LMN (Lifetime Movie Network). As usual for LMN, the content feels like an R rated drama minus any hardcore swearing, violence, or nudity. There are adult situations such as depictions of people dying in traumatic ways (filmed tastefully and necessary for the story.)

What I like about this movie are the unique themes of "family grudges", "inherited responsibilities", and, of course, "secrets".

Also, a really interesting subplot in regard to the high-priced art world; specifically, the difference between being "inspired" by another artist versus simply ripping off their work.

Terrible leading actress
josie-4673431 January 2024
4 of us sat to watch this film. None of us could barely understand a word lead actress was saying....very unusual accent which we can't belive is real.....and speach seemed speeded up and words flowed into each other. Really terrible and off putting we abandon the film for something else.... I can't believe the producers did not spot how terrible the speech was. It was lovely to see Jonathan all grown up but still resembles the cute small boy from Jerry maguire......overall I think this film could have been alot better the story line was week and often didn't add up with gaps in the story line.
