Decent for New Simpsons

Warning: Spoilers
This episode stands out as acceptable among the general brain-rot of modern Simpsons episodes. It's endearing to see Homer platonically care for a single mom and her baby with only innocent and pure intentions. The Ho-ju jokes and reference is honestly hilarious and an awesome call back.

First half of this episode absolutely rocks but it falls apart later on. Marge's reaction to Homer taking care of Homer junior is a little stupid and upsetting to watch. The "feud" between Homer Junior and Maggie is also pretty dumb. Yes, Homer should focus on his actual children more. But Marge and the rest of the Simpson family getting mad at him for generally being charitable with no ill intentions and wanting to help a new mother for a few hours a week is a little infuriating to watch.

The conclusion with the baby's dad returning and belittling Homer (who cared for his son expecting nothing in return) is depressing as well.

Basically, this episode goes from heartwarming to irritating. It's worth a watch more than 99% of newer episodes. But still falls flat.

Labor Pains

It was, as other people have said, nice to see a different side to Homer Simpson, and this half of the episode was well-written and plotted out indeed.

I thought it was warm and charming and had some nice laugh out loud moments. It's great that a character as well developed as Homer is all these years later can still be built upon and surprise us.

As you might have predicted, the other plot line here isn't half as good. It's just Lisa on her high horse, trying to get her own way. She's supposed to be eight, and yet she's acting way way older than that, and it's jarring.

Overall the A plot makes up for the B.

Nice to See a Different Side of Homer,

Labor Pains is a great Simpsons episode with a very good storyline and plenty of very funny scenes. The episode was, once again,a very sweet one (I'm not complaining, the Simpsons is very good at this) that shows a very different side to Homer,as he takes care of a child he delivered that has no father,I loved seeing this side of Homer.I think the episodes side story was very weak, sometimes I feel like the side story is so good it could be a solo episode, but this was one was unnecessary and took you away from a good story.Labor Pains is a very enjoyable Simpsons episode.

Homer proves to be good in a crisis when he shares a special moment with a pregnant woman in a lift.
