For a long term fan and shipper it's everything you could want

Warning: Spoilers
OK we all know that season 7 was ALL about Jeffrey Donovan. Basically it was written by Matt Nix to give him an opportunity to demonstrate his amazing acting talent on so many different levels. Seriously that man can make you cry with just a single expression.

This episode is no exception. It delivers on so many levels. For the shippers of Mike and Fi you go from the dizzying highs of flashbacks to their time back in Dublin and Michael using a special phrase to save Fi (in his Irish accent no less) to the HEART CRUSHING ending.

We see Michael struggle with wanting to connect with his mother and friends but knowing that doing so will only put them in danger again.

But outside the above my favourite moment in the episode is when Carlos attacks Michael for letting Fi get kidnapped. The murderous look that Jeffrey delivers at the actor playing Carlos while they tussel is just gut wrenching. You feel all the pain, fear and hatred Michael had deep down in his soul at that moment.

After the disappointment that was the middle and end of season 6 (and there was A lot of it) beginning season 7 like this was a necessity.

Warning: Spoilers
Several year later and rewatching this show. I love this episode. But my heart broke when Fiona didn't even look at Michael after the firefight. And then the peck on the cheek ripped it out of my chest!!

Love story
hazangel-899109 February 2023
I enjoy this show for what it is, a little mindless fun and entertainment. But now I am invested in Fi and Michael's love story. I enjoyed the flashbacks and how it related to the situation. I'm hoping all gets resolved by the end of the season. There were too many seasons prior to not have this have a happy ending.

The new boyfriend seems like a good guy but Fi and Mike have too much history. I hope the whole team (including mamma Westen) can find happiness somewhere other than Miami...hahaha

Michael or should I say the actor who plays Michael is very talented. I dont remember ever seeing him in anything else but now I am interested to watch something else that he is in to see if he has any range.

Oirish accents are actually so dire.

When Fiona dropped her Oirish accent, very early in the show, it should have never have been resurrected. The fact that she tried to go back to it, admittedly in flashbacks, was a terrible mistake, and should have been avoided. Then Michael, & the rest of the actors in the 'Dublin' pub actually try to outdo her, and succeed very well. God there are so many Irish actors that could have even dubbed this crap to make it sound genuine. As for the pub, please, please tell me on what film lot this is, so I can arrange to have it destroyed, it's worse even than the acting. I know this is just popcorn TV, but please try to stop the Darby O'Gill accents. We are so used to the stage Irish accent, it really is annoying that they don't have a decent voice coach.
