Producer Danny Crossman's Canadian War featured inspired by true events of the liberation of Holland is a valiant effort.
His passion and knowledge of the material is evident on screen. Quality production design. His ability as a producer to put together such big idea with a modest budget, shows his skills as a good producer.
Although, some acting and story choices left to be desired, overall the entertainment value is there.
Definitely could have improved bringing on another writer to improve dialogue and story beats and the editing could be a bit tighter to emphasize his director (Terry Jansen, whom also costars) talents as an actors director.
I wanted to love this film, seeing as it's a Canadian war film, and I have family who served. Unfortunately, there were just a few moments creatively that could've been shaved from the final cut and executed differently, which kept me only liking it.
With that being said, however, I feel this one will mark the beginning of many more to come from Crossman, as this quaint war film gains traction.
