When Ozzy Osbourne and his son Jack visited the Florida Everglades earlier this year, the younger Osbourne didn't tell his dad what he was in for. In a funny, new clip from the upcoming season of Ozzy & Jack's World Detour, which premieres Wednesday, November 8th on A&E, the Osbournes' tour guide opens up a white satchel and a python emerges from it. "Ozzy, we're going to take you to catch pythons," one of the men says. "No thanks," Ozzy says nonchalantly.

Ozzy Osbourne might be riding the Crazy Train right to the courthouse. The Black Sabbath frontman has been hit with a $2 million lawsuit by Bob Daisley, the co-author of Osbourne’s breakthrough solo hit “Crazy Train,” claiming that he’s owed royalties for the 1980 tune and others he helped write. For the first of five nights playing "Late Show With David Letterman," the Foo Fighters brought with them a special guest to cover a very special song. Dave Grohl and co. drafted the help of their pal Zac Brown (who appears on their upcoming album "Sonic Highways") for a faithful cover of Black Sabbath's seminal anti-war anthem "War Pigs." With the addition of roots rocker Brown, the performance features no less than four guitars, but they still can't measure up to the de-tuned menace of Sabbath axeman Tommy Iommi. The vocals are performed by both Brown and Grohl (if you can see him behind all that hair), but likewise can't replicate Ozzy Osbourne's original performance. Still, they're clearly having one hell of a fun time. Watch it here: Fun fact: "War Pigs" has also been covered by bands like The Flaming Lips, Faith No More, Cake and Quasi.

The Beatles were the first to popularise backmasking, a technique in which backwards sound is added to tracks that are designed to played forwards. The Beatles originally used the process to hide humourous messages in their songs, a trend followed by a number of popular artists since.
Backmasking has been a controversial topic in the past, with some Christian groups claiming that it’s been used to hide subliminal Satanic messages. This has led to anti-backmasking legislation being proposed, record-burning protests being held, and countless hours being spent by adolescents rewinding their tape decks and record players.
These days, backmasking is mainly used to hide little easter eggs in songs, often with a reference to other works, or for comedic effect. Of course, there’s also some hidden messages that are so bizarre, not even the original artists have managed to explain them properly.

Musicians, perhaps more so than any other profession, tend to get quite a bit of leeway when it comes to deviant behaviour. It is almost expected of a celebrity musician to stir up some strife every now and then. Rockstars in particular are known for their erratic and unpredictable behaviour, with stories such as Ozzy Osbourne biting the head off a bat, drinking his own urine or defecating in the hallway of a hotel has all become stuff of legend.
Thus, wild stories of musicians exercising their right to freedom are mostly celebrated and encouraged in society. As far as the public is concerned, as long as they don’t hurt anyone there’s no harm done.
However, the fact that society celebrates this sort of behaviour among celebrities is seemingly resulting in a tirade of entitled individuals who believe they are above the law. This is all well...

Few bands throughout history have better represented the fight between good and evil than heavy metal pioneers Black Sabbath.
The group even had an album and song titled "Heaven And Hell" during one of the periods when the late Ronnie James Dio had replaced Ozzy Osbourne as the band's lead singer. That song's main refrain of "Oh, it's on and on and on/ It goes on and on and on, Heaven and Hell" pointedly captured that sense of an eternal struggle.
It's a war that's not at all unfamiliar to current Black Sabbath members Ozzy Osbourne, Tony Iommi and Geezer Butler as they've consistently wrestled with the devils and angels on their shoulders over the years.

After having a career that's lasted over four decades, Black Sabbath finally scored its first Billboard 200 No. 1 album in the United States. "13," the 19th album from the rock band, debuted in America on June 11 and went on to sell 155,000 copies in its first week. It bumped the new Queens of the Stone Age album out of the Billboard 200 top spot.
"The news is absolutely amazing -- we couldn't have imagined this would happen," guitarist and founding member Tony Iommi says in a statement.
Ozzy Osbourne adds, "To finally have our first No. 1 album in the U.S. is another incredible milestone for Black Sabbath."
Black Sabbath first formed in 1968, and the band released its self-titled debut in 1970. With the exception of a five-year break from 2006 to 2011, the band has been making music ever since. A new tour is slated to kick off in Europe in November.

Black Sabbath’s reunion album has yielded at least one new career high-water mark for the hard rock vets: “13” sold 155,000 and debuts at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 this week, making it the Brits’ first chart-topper for the overall album sales tally. Black Sabbath’s previous best charting week came with “Master of Reality” in 1971 at a No. 8 peak. “13” is Sabbath’s first studio album with Ozzy Osbourne at the helm since 1978’s “Never Say Die!” Daft Punk’s “Random Access Memories” stays put at No. 2 (48,000, -22%) and Justin Timberlake’s “The 20/20 Experience” climbs No. 9...

London, Jun 17: The band Black Sabbath has returned to the top of the UK charts with their new album, after almost half a century.
Released on Monday, the album, titled 13, broke the record for the longest gap between chart-topping releases by British artists, Sky News reported.
It was in 1970 that the band first topped The UK charts with their second album 'Paranoid'.
The 43-year-long wait beats the record set by Rod Stewart, who had to wait 34 years for number one success between Volume 1 of his Greatest Hits, which came out in 1979, and this year's album Time.
Ozzy osbourne said that Rod Stewart and the Black Sabbath.

London, June 16 (Reuters) - The British rock band Black Sabbath's album "13!" has given them a first British Number One album in nearly 43 years, a record interval between chart-toppers, the Official Charts Company said on Sunday.
Black Sabbath were last at the top of the UK chart with their second album, "Paranoid".
"I'm in shock!" Black Sabbath front man Ozzy Osbourne told the Official Charts Company. "The success of this album has blown me off my feet. We've never had a record climb the charts so fast."
The band saw off competition from Liam Gallagher's band Beady Eye, in second place with "Be".
In the singles chart, American R&B singer Robin Thicke made it three weeks on top with "Blurred Lines".
The song, featuring rapper Ti and Pharrell Williams, has sold over 580,000 copies, making it the fifth-best selling single of 2013.

Black Sabbath will land at its first No. 1 next week on the Billboard 200 with the lucky “13.” The title will be the only project to surpass 100,00 in sales, as the Ozzy Osbourne-fronted album is expected to sell up to 125,000 copies. The other debuts in the Top 10 couldn’t be more different from the metal gods: Big Time Rush’s “24/Seven” will bow at No 3, Hans Zimmer’s “Man of Steel” soundtrack at No. 4 (when’s the last time we saw a composer in the top 10?), Goo Goo Dolls’ “Magnetic” at No. 6 and Lonely Island’s "The Wack...

To celebrate their new Rick Rubin-produced album 13 (out June 11), Black Sabbath frontman Ozzy Osbourne and bassist Geezer Butler called a town hall meeting last week. Held at Los Angeles’ Harmony Gold, it was a reminder of the music industry’s good old days, with a buffet fit for a king, all to impress journalists, fans and metal heads as they took in the new music -- the band’s first studio offering with Osbourne since 1978's Never Say Die. The itinerary for the night’s activities wasn’t entirely clear at first, not to attendees or Butler, who joked with The Hollywood Reporter that

I've recounted many times on these pages how deeply the doom-filled strains of bands like Black Sabbath and Pentagram have burned their brand into entire generations of hard rock and metal, but the dark and heavy sounds of that era lend themselves so well to macabre, occult and horror themes that they continue to capture my attention. Many artists try ascending to those heights, but only a few capture the same dark majesty while retaining their own creative stamp. San Francisco-based quartet Orchid is quickly becoming one such band – so much that acclaimed engineer Richard Whittaker, who was instrumental in the remastering of Black Sabbath's early albums (including their self-titled 1970 debut), has been following the group's progress since their 2009 Ep Through the Devil's Doorway, and came aboard to master Orchid's latest full-length studio album The Mouths of Madness. On the heels of last year's well-received Ep The Heretic, Madness sports a cleaner,...

I don't know how or why Black Sabbath wound up on last night's season finale of CSI, performing "End Of Beginning" from their Rick Rubin produced reunion album 13 (out June 11), but they did… it happened… and now it's up to all of us to just deal with that.

The episode (currently streaming in full on CBS.com) kicks off with Black Sabbath performing at a small rock club (because that happens) and later even features a dynamic scene between Ted Danson and Ozzy Osbourne. By "dynamic," of course, I mean "why the hell am I watching this right now?"

Battlestar Galactica alum James Callis is stirring up trouble again, this time on CBS’ CSI (Wednesday, 10/9c) – and TVLine has a first look at his investigative journalist “bugging” Nick Stokes (and in doing so, setting the stage for a Gil Grissom shout-out).
Callis, but one of a flurry of familiar faces popping up in the long-running procedural’s Season 13 finale, guest-stars as John Merchiston, “a Vanity Fair-style journalist who comes to Vegas to do a story on the crime lab,” showrunner Don McGill tells TVLIne. “The desire of the Lvpd is to get a little positive PR, since there’s...

Enjoying some downtime despite her family woes, Kelly Osbourne went out for a little retail therapy in New York City on Wednesday (April 24).
Joined by her beau Matthew Mosshar, the pair made a stop by a Patricia Field's store on the Lower East side before heading on their way.
Speaking of Kelly's family, the rumor mill started spinning the last few weeks after reports surfaced that Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne were headed for divorce.
Tired of the tabloid negativity, the "Fashion Police" co-host took to her Twitter page, writing, "If i read 1 more bullsh** story about my mother and father Im going to lose my mind!!!! #EnoughAlready."
Although divorce doesn't seem to be on the horizon for the former reality TV rocker couple, both Sharon and Ozzy have confirmed that the "Black Sabbath" front man has relapsed on prescription drugs and alcohol.
